Thank you to LA Times for covering an important news story which affects the lives of 6,000 sentient pigs who lose their lives in a violent way for unnecessary pleasure of humans each day in our city. It's important that Angelenos realize that there are people who are bearing witness to the suffering of these intelligent creatures and offering them comfort in their final hours. One day, perhaps humanity will evolve to include moral consideration of non-human animals - hopefully in the not-so-distant future, for the sake of the animals, the millions of starving humans who could be fed were it not for the appetite of some for meat, as well as future generations of humans who might not otherwise survive on planet Earth if the destructive, cruel practice of animal agriculture continues unabated.
