Another one of my favorites. I believe this image was taken in 1996. I was working on a calendar image for the City of San José Department of Housing. These 3 girls were best friends and lived at Poco Way, an affordable housing development in San José. These run down apartments had been completely remodeled by the city and were made available to families. I was given permission by their parents to photograph them. It was close to Halloween so I picked up some costumes at a nearby store. When I arrived for the photoshoot the girls were so excited to see the costumes. I shot one roll of film on my Hasselblad and was thrilled the glow of the pumpkin created the exact look I was hoping for. #cityofsanjose #cityofsanjosedepartmentofhousing #halloween #halloweenphotography #film #hasselblad #affordablehousing

This is one of my all time favorite images and I’ve taken a lot! I shot this over 20 years ago at an Affordable Housing Development in San José, CA. I’ve been told this image in hanging in Washington D.C. at the Department of Housing and Urban Development. These kids were such a joy! They were just playing outside of their apartments and I asked their parents if I could take a quick photo. Lucretia Gardens is an Affordable Housing Development. I was photographing it to highli...ght efforts by the City of San José Department of Housing to build Affordable Housing in Silicon Valley. These kids today would be in their late twenties and early thirties.
