Just a heads up on pyramid lake. Striper fishing is excellent from shore and from boat, main bait is fresh cut sardines. I've had 5 customers come at the shop and reported that it was limit style on 1, 2, and 3 pounds fish, also there are several other posts on u tube. Valley fishing tackle is the only shop that has the fresh sardines. Call us 818 255 5559.... Come and get your fresh sardines before they're gone... Good luck and stay safe.

THE MACKS FISH REPORTS #6 November 18th. ITS WEDNESDAY!!!!!!! TIME FOR THE... MACKS FISHING REPORT 2 New lake records set for the same lake!!! One was caught this morning!!! Read below!! """"""Trout plants"""'" in southern california!!!! Mountain lakes - stocking trout tommorow 1000 pounds of mt lassen rainbows going in the top lake only.. they will not be stocking next week but they are still having a derby.. No fishing allowed day of stock so Friday morning will be first Chance to get them. This is a members only lake or guest of a member.. This will be the 4th stocking since they started. Friday is usually the best day for bites. Now with the 4th stocking limits should be more common. Seems like more fish are spred out more now and more end up on the stringer. Hot baits green power bait dipped in bite on or inflated nightcrawler, 1.5 leader or orange and yellow jigs tipped with a night crawler casting along the shore line. One huge thing from here the beach area is finally open they removed all signs so this Friday leading into the weekend the jig fisherman are gona be stacked in there.. Santa ana river lakes - trout opener was last Thursday. They are stocking tommorow again with a full truck load. something new they started is they are allowing fishing Thursday now starting at 5 pm on a special camping pass. So that new pass goes from 5 pm Thursday to Friday at 4 pm.. All the pricing is still the same which is awesome because the cost of fish keeps going up.. fishing hours are the same as well so Friday anglers can still fish on a normal day pass like usual.. Also one of the few lakes that allows float tubing.. The last catfish plant was 2 weeks ago.. seems like many limits were caught Friday.. some even caught Thursday night.. power bait chartreuse and mouse tails was the most commin thing being bit in the pink and white or orange and white. Some were also caught on jigs around the boat dock and the nets.. Look for there stock video tommorow to see some very good size fish going in.. Lake elsinore- Catfish are still showing around launch point area some anglers are reporting very good action. The Carp are being caught all over the lake and makes for a fun fight on lite line.. Remember if you happen to catch a carp it is encourage to not release the fish because there is so many as it is.. This lake is great because you can almost launch any water craft as long as you got your proper safety gear. 2 stroke motors, 4 stroke motors, Personal boats, kayaks, float tubes you name it .. Make sure to check out the Bobber and Williams Bait and Tackle there for any fishing tips at the lake.. The water level is holding very well also. Look to this lake beginning next year for a few big things happening as well as some awesome tournaments in the works.. San bernardino county lakes - guasti, glen helen, yucaipa, mojave narrows have finally set there stock date to Wednesday next week November 25th 775 pounds just in time for the holiday weekend with calveras trout Hatchery. Prado will be opening November 21.. The following dates are what they have scheduled for stocks.. December 10 ( yucaipa, glen helen, mojave narrows, prado) December 11 (guasti only) December 23 ( guasti, glen helen, prado, yucaipa, mojave narrows) Hesperia lake- trout stock is set to start tommorow November 19th from mt lassen. Catfish are still being caught with the last stock a week ago.. Jess ranch - trout fishing has been decent for some anglers taking the time and locating fish..seen a few decent fish caught over the weekend. California aqua duct- steady fishing for anglers targeting striper but there is alot of casting and walking for these fish. Catfish continue to show fishing towards the bottom usually at spots the water comes in. Also some smaller bass showing on plastics and assorted baits like small swim baits.. Fishermans retreat in redlands- there stocking again this week for the forth consecutive week in a row. Been really good action with many limits for weeks... hot baits has been power bait, mouse tails, and jigging first few days after they stocked.. heard the top lake has been the most productive.. if you catch a bass, blue gill, or crappie they are catch and release only.. Big bear lake- Besides the state that made 2 small stocks of pan size fish this year maybe 250 pounds each time no other trout stocks since march due to covid and all tournaments were cancelled.. there is still some trout showing for bait fisherman early morning soaking bait by the red house and dam area. Looks like the slip bobber set ups have been doing the best right now. seen some good holdover fish being caught.. with this colder weather the trout seem to be eating more. Some of the anglers that are sticking it out in the cold its paying off with a few limits..some trollers are getting a few trout in those same areas with rapalas. Soon the boats will no longer be aloud on the lake until next year.. There will be no other trout plants until spring time.. Bass fishing is doing well right outside the weed beds for small mouth and large mouth. There also around boat docks as well.. Carp are eating dough baits for whoever is targeting them as well as some fly fishing anglers. Carp have been swimming very good around the dam area. Dress warm its been really chilly in the mornings.. water is starting to freeze on the lake shore.. Green valley lake - last trout plant was almost 2 months ago. .. Still some fish in there but a tuff bite for trout. A few crappie are showing as well.. season is over for stocking this year.. Lake arrowhead - if you get access to fish here or have access there was a good number of trout caught around some boat docks. Lake gregory - They Will be stocking November 25th from cavelaras trout hatchery. Its been over a year since the last stocking so alot of local anglers are excited. Some bass showing for the anglers pounding the shore... Palm dale fin and feather - is closed to fishing now they are in full hunting mode for duck season until the opener in February.. remember this lake stocks almost 100,000 pounds of trout in 3 months also a membership only lake or guest of a member.. a premier bass lake as well with huge crappie and bluegills. They also allow bow fishing for carp.. The board members have been focusing on some dock repairs so this coming fish season should be awesome Apollo lake lancaster - No stocks since march from there last fish derby and nothing as of yet until the covid restrictions get lifted. He said there is still people fishing everyday and getting a few here and there mixed species.. Silverwood lake - Some schooling striper are still showing around the boat docks and the inlet. Trolling feather's and lead core also working on a few better grade fish. Shore fishing has been the best for anglers making the treck from the road down to the lake in the evening and night time. Artificial baits have been getting the most... Tried to reach out about a trout stock but no info yet.. Pyramid lake - seen a few stripers and catfish caught but reports from here are few and far between.. looks decent for whoever is targeting catfish in coves.. Cachuma lake - has been decent on the trout fishing. mostly boat action is getting them. Lake perris - catfish have been biting at night with that good size flat head a few weeks ago.. Also good size carp are eating as well. The slab size blue gills and red ears continue to be caught by anglers fishing with kayaks and boats around brush piles and sticks putting in the work to find them. If your targeting bass, there is some good size large mouth being caught back in the trees and cover. Some anglers that really know the lake are getting so many green backs and good quality size fish as well.. no info on a trout stock yet.. Puddingstone lake - last catfish stock was in june decent bass bite around structure and showing around sailboat cove..some panfish being caught as well. Santa fe dam - stocked 2 truck load of catfish on Friday oct 23. Haven't heard many reports from here in a lil while. Some bass are showing around trees on the smaller size.. Irvine lake - no report for whats biting or stocking but the lake is open Friday Saturday and sunday and still cost 5 bucks per car load. No info on a trout stock yet. Lake skinner - reached out about trout stock no info still but i found out a bid was put out for fish by riverside county so will see what happens.. there last catfish plant was last month.. The striper have been showing deeper trolling as well as some top water action. The action has been steady to good but most anglers that are getting them arent saying much.. Some smaller bass have been showing... Rancho jurupa - no plants of trout on the schedule yet for riverside county.. But a bid has been put out by the county so will see.. Lake cuhuilla - no trout stocks since last season. No report. Update on riverside county stocks- i talked with a certain hatchery and it turns out riverside county has just submitted a bid to get trout last week.. lots of speculation but atleast there is a plan.. turns out the reason they have not stocked fish is because the hatchery they were going with got contaminated.. Diamond valley lake - stocked 3500 pounds of rainbow and lighting trout from mt lassen 3 weeks ago. The bite was tuff for most anglers seemed like the water was a little on the warmer side and the fish weren't to active. Even heard many trout were belly up the next few days after.. next stock will most likely be around first week in December. Little lake in hemet - stocked 3 weeks ago with 500 pounds of rainbow trout. The bite was very good for anglers bait fishing that first weekend Seen a few limits posted.. but nothing since.. Lake hemet - trout plant came a week early due to the colder weather and getting the water temperature right. They stocked 3500 pounds of trout from mt lassen yesterday and 500 pounds of that was good size lightning trout. The cost for this lake is 25 bucks per vehicle to fish.. started out slow the fish had to get acclimated but definitely this past weekend seemed like more trout were caught. Still have seen very little lightning trout caught so most are still in there. Next stock will most likely be in early December but will see.. Eastern sierras - trout season is for the most part came to a close sunday November 15th. Some areas are still open for fishing but you gotta wait till last week in april or (fishmas) to go back up there.. check the regs to see what you can still fish. I believe the owens river and pleasant valley reservoir is still open. Santee lakes - stocked 3000 pounds 2 weeks ago in lakes 2, 3 , and 4 It looks like the bite was decent but no were near wide open. You had to work for them.. Ryan Nelsen caught a 5.11 pound rainbow using a lure.. Lake wolhford - last catfish plant was end of july. Trout plant is scheduled beginning of December. Bass has still been showing with some catfish being caught as well.. Lake poway - trout opener schedule for December 4-6 they havea contest for biggest trout caught that weekend wins a prize. The crappie action has been slower but still some showing.. Lake buena vista bakersfield- trout stocking will be November 24th , and there words the stocking will be much bigger than usual!! Camping is open now. Lake amador - they stocked 800 pounds of monsters from 8-24 pounds!!!! Thats right 24 pound rainbows went in along with 200 pounds of lightning trout. A new lake record cutbow was caught by juan garcia the day after the stock that weighed just over 20.12 pounds. Fish bit on power bait. But there is a few bigger ones cruising around. There stocking Thursday 1000 pounds of 2 pound cutbows... Jeremy Silvas just caught a 19.3 pound rainbow trout this morning.. He was fishing near the Dam with a small gold/red Kastmaster. Fishing has been great over the past week for multiple species both off shore and throughout the lake. Many anglers have been catching trout on various baits fr...om shore such as little spinner baits and kastmasters but the best baits have been nightcrawlers and powerbait throughout the day. Lots have catfish have been caught out on the water down deep in coves around the lake on Sardines, Chicken Liver and nightcrawlers. Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass have been biting very well along the shorelines on many different baits such as jerkbaits, crankbaits, ned rigs, flukes and senkos throughout the day with some top water action in the mornings for both Bass and Stripers. Stripers have been busting during the morning hours throughout the lake, being caught on top waters, jerkbaits, and lugworms from the banks, bait and wait style. Current hours are from 6am-7pm, beginning tomorrow on June 2, the Lake will start closing at 8pm. In order to practice Social Distancing and Covid-19 regulations, we are limiting the vehicles that enter the park and we ask for your patience and cooperation during these hard times. Swim Beaches are still closed for both exits, Vista Del Lago is still closed so make sure to exit Smokey Bear Road to find the lake, and there will be NO RE-ENTRY to the park once inside so bring all supplies and friends with you. 50 jetskis, 100 vehicles, and 150 boats may enter the lake, after capacity is reached, it is a "One-in-One-out" policy to enter the lake. If you are bringing in your own watercraft, be sure to have your paperwork and equipment in order. Persons 35 of age or younger is required to have their Boater's Card to operate their vessels, Sherriff's will be checking. Stay safe and drive carefully with everything going on and we hope to see you out here soon!
