25Sep2020 The USTMAASC Executive Council and members had a meeting with FMS Dean Lourdes Maglinao, MD. to discuss updates on the UST FMS Simulation Center. Back in 2018, the Dean met with the Association to discuss her vision of the state of the art facility. For its Silver Anniversary celebration, USTMAASC made the Simulation Center its banner campaign for its fundraising activity. More than 1 million pesos was donated. We are thrilled to hear that the blueprints of the different floors have been created and look forward to the construction of the Center. USTMAASC is proud to carry the torch to make this Thomasian legacy a reality. We stand alongside the Dean to continue to uplift UST FMS medical education to global standards.

It was a pleasure to finally meet Dr. Narciso Azurin, a PSG brod, a very successful Family Medicine Specialist, President of Angeles IPA and former President of the UST Medical Alumni Foundation. Dr. Azurin together with Angeles IPA has always been a staunch supporter of USTMAASC. Most recently, they were one of the gold sponsors during USTMAASC’s Silver Anniversary celebration. Thank you so much for your support!

A Celebration of Life for Dr. Noli Zosa will be held immediately after the burial on Sept. 18. It will be held at Pasea Hotel 21080 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, CA. RSVP is required no later than Sept. 8 Here is a beautiful tribute from Dr. Joe Evangelista: Dearest Nena,... Our hearts are saddened by your loss and our thoughts and prayers are with you. May the memories of Noli and the love of family and friends give you strength and comfort in the days ahead. Nothing prepares you for saying good-bye to someone who’s always been such a big part of your life. But I hope it comforts you to know that Noli will always be remembered and loved for all the things that he has done for the community, for APPA, PMSSC, for his Alma Mater and for his family and friends. We all have memories of Noli that we will always carry with us, memories that we will always hold dear. He was remarkable in so many ways. He lived his life to the fullest and touched so many people during his time. He was a good, honest and humble man, a devoted husband and father, a caring physician, a great leader, and a loyal friend. We will never forget that in the history of APPA, the best and the most well-attended among all the APPA conventions was the one in Long Beach, California, held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in July 1988. The success of that convention was attributed to none other than the dynamic duo, Dr. Noli Zosa, then Executive Director of APPA and Nena Zosa, program Chair. It was the most well attended convention, with overflow crowds at the functions, the best program and fabulous entertainment ever. We had the highest membership in the history of APPA and hence the most number of delegates represented, coming from the different parts of the United States. We also had the highest amount of money in the coffers of APPA. Joe Evangelista was the APPA President, and Celia Candari was APPA Auxiliary President; Lani Quevedo was the Overall Chair of the Convention as President of the PMSSC, and Fred Quevedo was elected President-Elect. God took Noli back in His loving arms for his much-needed rest and may he enjoy eternal peace in heaven! Sincerely, Joe Evangelista M.D., FACC Past president APPA

It is heartbreaking for us to share the sad news that Dr. Noli Zosa passed away last night. Dr. Zosa was a pillar in the UST Medical Alumni Foundation, USTMAASC and PMASC. He led some of the most successful fundraisers in California which enabled the establishment of the Rizal museum inside the UST medical building as well as renovations in the Clinical Division. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences are with the Zosa family. Funeral services will be announced later on. We bid you a sad farewell. Thank you Dr. Zosa for all that you have done.
