On November 12, 1943 President Franklin D. Roosevelt embarked on USS Iowa (BB 61) an departed Hampton Roads to attend the allied conference in Tehran, Iran. On ...November 14, 1943 while at sea during a drill, a torpedo was accidentally fired at Iowa by USS William D. Porter. In this video segment, Anne Sullivan, daughter of John McRea, FDR's naval aide, relates the story as she heard it from her father about the accidental firing of the torpedo. This video was captured by the USS Iowa (BB-61) museum in #LosAngeles.
