Much love to our singers and family, all over the world.
To the #ClassOf2020 from the 2015-2016 edition of the USD Choral Scholars in these #PandemicTimes... Hold on, to me as we go As we roll down this unfamiliar road And although this wave is stringing us along... Just know you're not alone 'Cause I'm going to make this place your home #USDSings #BeStillMyHeart #EvenHereIAmAtHome
USD's Concert Choir, under the co-direction of Emilie Amrein and Paul Infantino '07, has created a remote recording project of "O Love" by Elaine Hagenberg. While we can't gather together for a concert on campus right now, we hope that you'll join us in listening to this beautiful music, sung by some of our talented students, set to a photo montage of some of their favorite moments spent together. O Love, that will not let me go, O Love, I rest my weary soul in Thee; I give t...he back the life I owe, That in thy ocean depths its flow may richer fuller be. O Joy, that seeks me through the pain, O I cannot close my heart to thee; I trace the rainbow through the rain, And feel the promise is not vain That morn shall tearless be.
It feels like our February #portraits concert was a decade ago. But Bonhoeffer's words are still so timely.
Greetings from the USD Choral Leadership Collaboratory! COVID-19 can't keep us from loving each other and taking good care of one another. #Community #Love University of San Diego: College of Arts and Sciences... University of San Diego Music Department University of San Diego See more

The life and thought of Dietrich Bonhoeffer persists as an essential and critical voice even seventy five years after his death. There are so many reasons to pay attention to the occasional writings and speakings of Bonhoeffer; but in our time of fractious politics, slow and sometimes blatant power grabs, growing support for right wing populism and uncritical adulation of the strong leader, it is the radically uncompromising call and cost of discipleship in following Jesus that challenges Christian communities to decide where ultimate allegiance lies. Join us for Choral Portraits: Anne Frank & Dietrich Bonhoeffer in just one week!
Bonhoeffer argued, As much as the Christian would like to remain distant from political struggle, nonetheless, even here the commandment of love urges the Christian to stand up for his neighbor. The tenors and basses of the USD Choral Leadership Academy and SACRA/PROFANA join forces in the world premiere of Thomas Lloyd’s powerful cantata, Six Meditations from Bonhoeffer at Choral Portraits: Anne Frank & Dietrich Bonhoeffer. 7:30 on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Temple Emanu-El o...f San Diego. #Interfaith #BonhoefferMoment #WorldPremiere University of San Diego Music Department University of San Diego: College of Arts and Sciences Frances G.
