Here is a thought about the recent unrest and USA Hapkido. The people are revolting because police are using excessive force and have demeaning attitude causing indignation. The same can happen to a martial artist. That is why USA Hapkido is a traditional martial arts. By following traditions of showing respect like bowing and saying yes sir, we constantly are reminded to be humble and have humility. It’s easy to get carried away when you are given power. This is somethi...ng that is not usually addressed in combat sports. In addition, the reason we practice joint locks is to avoid excessive use of force. You should not strike or choke someone unless you are in danger. May be police officers should be required to train Hapkido. Master Lawrence

Here’s another exciting thing happening at USA Hapkido, we have new belt design for color belts. They look very sharp, thanks to Masterline for using the right font design. There’s only one caveat, they must be earned with hard work and discipline, nothing else.

If you really think about it, this is the best time in life. I am using it to put in my training for my Brazilian jiu-jitsu to take it to the top level. Once every thing open up, I will be ready for some world class competition. This is me and Pete McCarol, 70 years old, we just did 100 techniques for our training session at Boran Brazilian Jiujitsu.
