Today, 8-11-2020 marks a big day in the beauty industry. We fight the injustice brought to more than half a million industry professionals at the Capital in Sacramento, Ca. We hope @gavinnewsom and the Public Health Department hear our shouts, cries, and anger. It is no longer okay to be in an industry we are so passionate about and silently sit down with our hands tied. 5 months of random mandatory shutdown is enough! The second lockdown taking place ONLY in California does ...not make sense with the standards used to open and close businesses. While the big corporations expedite millions of sales, customers, and goods INSIDE; they remain open and thriving. The Cosmetology and Barbering industry consists of many small businesses following the mandatory guidelines on top of the preexisting,strict & engrained State Board guidelines we follow pre- Covid. The little guys are struggling. If the numbers reflected a spread in our industry, we would understand. They do not. Where is the logic? There is no research, rhyme or reason to pinpoint this industry. If anything the CDC used us as a positive example of why masks work! We can pretend that unemployment given to some will be a small band aid to the hemorrhaging we are experiencing. Let’s admit, it’s not going to save our homes, businesses, and certainly will not make ends meet in the State of California. In this difficult time we want to thank the small amount of people/businesses advocating for us. Thank you to @probeautyassoc, @4bassett, and @pompsalon & @mintsalonlodi for spearheading our movement.
