We have centralized all of our COVID-19/coronavirus communications into one webpage, with dated entries going back to the time the pandemic was declared. Keep the page bookmarked and check regularly for updates. If you aren't sure that you've seen the latest email from us, this is the place to go! http://www.upte.org/local/new/covid19/

#TBT It's been a little over a year since we ratified the best UC contracts UPTE members have ever won. We built true solidarity through the five powerful strikes we waged and the results were clear: 29-32% in raises, daily overtime pay for the first time ever, and the best pension in the UC system - with no one left out. Make no mistake, the University will pressure us to give back some of what we won through our commitments to each other. They will threaten layoffs, curtail...ment, furloughs, and even the possibility of new negotiations. UC has the money to cover all potential losses in the current crisis. If we remain united, we will protect what we've won. Connect with your local (upte.org/local/new/contacts/) to find out how to you can help us continue building our strong and democratic union. We are training hundreds of members with the knowledge and tools to do so.

Have you cast your ballot? There's no time to waste in getting out the vote - and stay tuned for more information about how we can fight to count every ballot. If you're still undecided, take a look at UPTE's voter guide: http://www.upte.org/local/new/upte-voter-guide/ Worker's rights are on the line in California, and that's why we overwhelmingly voted to say NO on Prop 22, and YES on Prop 15! Check out the voter guide for more.

CWA Speaks Out! A virtual forum sponsored by UPTE-CWA 9119, this panel discussion featured leaders from across our union who have been taking action to address the crises of racism and violence in our country. UPTE's Peace and Justice / Civil Rights and Equity committee organized the event under the larger banner of CWA's Human Rights mission. https://cwa-union.org/national-issues/human-rights http://www.upte.org

Sign the UC Green New Deal Coalition petition for UC to get serious about the climate crisis! The University of California has over 11 billion dollars in available surplus funds - far more than is needed to cover all shortfalls from Covid-19 and to shift the UC system away from fossil fuels for its power at the same time. When you sign and share today, we can take the first step in a campaign to create good, green jobs and cut out dirty energy for a safer future.
