Uprise Theatre 10.07.2021

Here to the real MVP! Thank you to our young intern Daniel. Daniel has been a tremendous asset to the team this semester as our 2nd high school legal intern! He took on the largest role in the play and also created and presented a know your rights for youth! What an incredible experience for us to be able to share space with such a gifted leader from Southeast. If you missed it and want to check it out go to bit.ly/UpriseLeavesofLearning. The KYR youth training is available for you & your young one any time! (and it’s only 20 min for the little ones attention spans! ) Big ups to Daniel as he continues learning at Stanford University this summer. We are so proud of what you accomplished and are lucky to have you as part of the Uprise team P/V!

Holy smokes man! Uprise has a podcast!! COVID has made things tough for in-person theatre . So we did the next best thing we could: we created a podcast of the play so we could continue to educate and empower folks! Big ups to our cast including our two main characters Maya and Enrique (juniors in high school!) ... Take a listen to find out what Enrique and Chris have gotten themselves into and find out what happens next by listening to the full podcast link below! See more

ALERTA: Join us for our 1st youth know your rights training! This training will be led by Uprise Theatre's executive director, a human rights and criminal defense attorney, and the organization's 17 year old legal intern. It is intended to be interactive, hands-on, and address the topics of: waiting for an adult before speaking with law enforcement , not consenting to searches , and early discussions on alternatives to incarceration . ... A packet with worksheets and materials will be sent to participants before the training, and after attending, they will receive a certificate of completion. While this training is recommended for ages 10-12 if you have a youth that you think will benefit from this and can actively participate please encourage them to attend. See more
