Here to the real MVP! Thank you to our young intern Daniel. Daniel has been a tremendous asset to the team this semester as our 2nd high school legal intern! He took on the largest role in the play and also created and presented a know your rights for youth! Holy smokes man! Uprise has a podcast!! COVID has made things tough for in-person theatre . ALERTA: Join us for our 1st youth know your rights training! This training will be led by Uprise Theatre's executive director, a human rights and criminal defense attorney, and the organization's 17 year old legal intern. It is intended to be interactive, hands-on, and address the topics of: waiting for an adult before speaking with law enforcement , not consenting to searches , and early discussions on alternatives to incarceration . ... A packet with worksheets and materials will be sent to participants before the training, and after attending, they will receive a certificate of completion. While this training is recommended for ages 10-12 if you have a youth that you think will benefit from this and can actively participate please encourage them to attend. See more
