#GivingWednesdayIsForProcrastinators If you are like me then you spent #givingtuesday seeing the amazing projects and organizations you want to donate to and then... didn't. So I've designated today for us, the procrastinators, #GivingWednesdayIsForProcrastinators because the GOOD NEWS is: The money we donate today has the same impact for the organizations we are trying to support. So let this be your last reminder to make your #betterlatethannever donations https://buff.ly/...2VtIPKq Lot's of love, Juliana Frick Core Member of UpLift Physical Theatre SPOTLIGHT ON ONE OF OUR PROJECTS: Listen in to snippets of a conversation between me and my playwrighting partner, Grace Booth as we talk about our brand new work in development THE UNIMAGINABLE CODE. The Unimaginable Code initiates a conversation between breakthrough scientific research and heart-centered storytelling to explore the multifaceted, recent issue of gene-editing technology CRISPR-Cas9. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, research into the ethics and science of CRISPR, and reflections on personal responsibility in a global community will be used to create an original theatre piece in UpLift Physical Theatre's signature visceral acrobatic style.

IT'S #givingtuesday!!! DONATE TODAY: https://fundraising.fracturedatlas.org/uplift-physical-thea Like many theatremakers, #2020 threw us a curveball. As an ensemble-driven physical theatre company, we’ve been forced to adapt to the realities of this pandemic. We firmly believe that good ideas and strong creative partnerships will find a way to give life to good art no matter the circumstances. So we’ve been spending our time developing some brand new projects! We've been ho...sting creation residencies over zoom, focusing on collaborative script work and narrative development, as well as developing inciting physical images to build choreography from. One of those projects, "The Unimaginable Code," received a CA$H Creates Grant from Theatre Bay Area. "The Unimaginable Code" initiates a conversation between breakthrough scientific research and heart-centered storytelling to explore the multifaceted, recent issue of gene-editing tool CRISPR-Cas9. Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, research into the ethics and science of CRISPR, and reflections on personal responsibility in a global community will be used to create an original theatre piece in the physical theatre style of Ancient Greek tragedy. LOOKING FOR 3-5 MOVERS/DANCERS IN THE BAY AREA FOR PARTICIPATION IN A REHEARSAL SUNDAY AFTERNOON MARCH 15th Hi all! I spent months organizing a 5-day rehearsal residency for my theatre company, UpLift Physical Theatre. Our members were going to be flying into the bay area from all over the country to begin creation on a brand new project. Alas, because of Coronavirus our members are no longer going to be able to make the trip to California. Instead, my playwriting partner and... I are looking for 3-5 local movers/dancers to participate in a single rehearsal on Sunday March 15th. We will be doing a lot of choral work a la greek tragedies and there will be a bit of contact but no heavy-duty acrobatics. Compensation: Unfortunately, I can only offer $20 per artist. You would be helping a local theatre company in the first stages of an exciting new original piece, thank you's in future programs and a few hours in a studio in guided improvisation with other movers. UpLift is selling a table! Beautiful table that was custom designed and built for our tour but we didn’t end up using it so it’s in excellent condition. It functions perfectly as a standard table but I’m sharing it here because the extra special thing about it (besides being super strong and lightweight) is that it easily breaks down into pieces that all fit into a small travel bag (travel bag included).... Do you know a touring theater company looking for a table? This is perfect for them! https://sfbay.craigslist.org//custom-made-/6676469950.html
