Damonique is a URM Security Officer Supervisor, and just as fiercely as she protects and guards those of us at URM she is equally as gentle and kind to the people we serve. Prayer request: I’d like to visit my mom more often. #prayerandfasting #unionrescuemission #unionfellowship

Please keep this very special courageous man, Federal Judge David Carter, pictured left @URM, in your prayers every day this month of October!! He is presiding over a case that could bring relief and life to many of the thousands of precious people suffering and dying from devastation of homelessness in Los Angeles. Pray for our County and City Officials, Advocates, Activists, & most of all, people without a roof! #prayerandfasting #prayerchangesthings #unionfellowship

So something happened today.... I had the pleasure to be at Hope Gardens today to do some work and to also connect with friends from Christian Assembly who were... volunteering at HG. It was a great day! Then I say goodbyes and drive off. Well, just as I’m leaving the mountains, quite literally at the foothill, I see a dog or a coyote walking along the bottom of the mountain. Then I noticed lots of blood on his rear end. I know that wild animals will bite the rear end of the animal they’re trying to kill. So that really concerned me. I pulled my car over, and tried to see if it was a dog. Yep, it was a dog and it was a serious injury. I pulled my car over to a safer spot away from traffic and noticed the dog walk away a little bit then stopped. I started googling animal control while keeping an eye on the dog hoping he wouldn’t leave or worse enter traffic. I got wrong numbers and a there are 20 callers ahead of you. So I hung up and figured the best I could do was leave the dog some water and hope the best for him. I got our of my car cautiously and found a discarded McDonald’s soda cup the side of the road. I poured bottle water into the cup all the while noticing the dog was watching me from a few yards away. Then I called him over for some water, and he cautiously walked my way. So I made my way back to the car. But he didn’t seem to even notice the water. I went back to the water cup and lifted it to show him. He didn’t seem interested. I went back to the car and stood there with the driver’s side open as the dog walked to my car and peered inside from the passenger window. And then... he walked around my car and before I knew what was happening he casually walked right in front of me and helped himself to the backseat of my car!! I’m just standing there like thinking there’s a stray dog in the backseat of my car and he’s bleeding...on my leather seats! And he’s definitely not leaving. In fact, he’s looking pretty glad to be inside. Most importantly, he doesn’t at all seem fearful or aggressive. In retrospect, I think he was relieved to be away from whatever hurt him in the mountains. So I’m standing outside my car trying to wrap my head around what’s absolutely surreal. Then I realized I have to take him to a shelter for medical care. But I need help because I don’t know of this dog will attack me while I’m driving. So I pray... more like Lord, I need help now!! Then my friend and super serious dog lover Les Albert pops into my mind AND yes(!!) he’s at Hope Gardens with Christian Assembly! So I drive back to Hope Gardens with a stray bleeding dog bleeding on my leather seats. I get there and Les is amazing. And my coworker Joelle Jean is also at Hope Gardens leading the Christian Assembly volunteers, and she fearlessly loved on this poor dog. Turns out this dog is so sweet and scared but gentle and probably still a puppy. Unfortunately, no one can adopt him (I so wish I could!). So Les and I take him to East Valley shelter, and excellent shelter by the way. As soon as they saw his injury they took him and immediately tended to his injury. He will be available for foster care or adoption next week. The shelter listed him as mixed breed but to me he looks pure Dutch Shepherd. It would be SO AWESOME if one of my dear friends would adopt him!!!!! If you are interested please reach out to me and I’ll give you more info. He is a super special dog, and I pray that for the rest of his life he will only be totally loved and spoiled! Thank God he is safe now and recovering See more

One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered. Proverbs 11:24-25 ESV

There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. Proverbs 6:16-19 ESV
