This is beyond what we’ve seen, and if people don’t stay home for Christmas this year, we’re gonna see something that’s, it’s hard for me to even imagine, Dr. Patrick Macmillan with UCSF Fresno said Tuesday during Fresno County’s COVID-19 virtual presser. I think it will break the healthcare system if people don’t stay home. https://www.yourcentralvalley.com//healthcare-workers-ple/

Essentially what my days have consisted of in these last few weeks is seeing an amount of death that I’ve never seen before in my career, said Dr. Patrick Macmillan, a specialist in hospice and end-of-life care with the UCSF Fresno. We cannot stop being vigilant in any way, UCSF Fresno’s Anneli von Reinhart, MD, added. The hand washing, the social distancing, staying home and staying away from other people, wearing a mask whenever you’re around others, are absolutely critical. https://www.fresnobee.com//coronavir/article248041860.html

Funded by federal CARES Act dollars, the Fresno COVID-19 Equity Project is a partnership among the CIty of Fresno, UCSF Fresno and community-based organizations to increase COVID-19 testing in underserved communities. A partnership with Healthy Fresno County further expands the response to COVID by including educational outreach and support services. Who Is Eligible? Anyone is eligible who can consent for the tests. Children under age 18 require a parent or guardian to con...sent. Tests will be offered for both symptomatic and asymptomatic people. Widespread testing in our community helps us determine where resources are needed and helps to track cases to minimize exposures. Where does testing take place? Our physical location is on the Fresno Interdenominational Refugee Ministries (FIRM) campus at 2630 E. Weldon Ave. We also offer mobile testing at various locations and events throughout Fresno, especially those that serve communities of color, in collaboration with our community-based organization partners. Is there a cost for testing? There is NO COST to be tested. What COVID test will I receive? Each patient will receive two tests a Rapid Antigen test and a PCR lab send-out test. Rapid tests result in about 30 minutes. All rapid tests must be verified with the PCR lab send out which has a turnaround time of 4-7 days. How will I be notified of my results? For the rapid test, we will try our best to give you the results while you are parked at the static site. However, if we are very busy, then we will call you the same day but only if your results are positive. You should assume that your result is negative if you have not heard back from us. Similarly, for the PCR lab test, you can assume your result is negative if you have not received a call in a week. However, we will call you if you’re result is positive as soon as we get the results. You can stop by our static site for a letter documenting your results. Please refer to the FAQs above regarding the accuracy of the results. More details at: www.fresno.ucsf.edu/cep
