The Department of Anthropology would like to celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day! To recognize this holiday, here is a link from the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian on some ways you can celebrate and honor the day.

Their current faculty specialize in migration and border studies, medical anthropology, food studies, urban and political anthropology, science and technology studies, environmental anthropology, ethnoprimatology and primate conservation, human biology and human behavioral ecology, bioarchaeology and forensic anthropology, historical archaeology, marine historical ecology, computational archaeolog...y, and zooarchaeology. Their graduate students receive training in these areas through mentored fieldwork with faculty and via their state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, including the Biological Anthropology & Primatology Lab, the Computational Archaeology Lab, the Environmental Archaeology and Anthropology Lab, the Historical Archaeology and Maya Research Lab, and the Zooarchaeology Lab.

About the project: This UC San Diego SCMA Koret Foundation sponsored project is a global scientific collaboration with the University of Haifa. It focuses on climate and environmental change over the past 10,000 years along Israel’s coastal zones.
