The Alternative Spring Break (ASB) class is aimed at College Nine and College Ten students who are interested in an in-depth volunteer experience in the Santa Cruz Community over the spring break period. Participants will explore a variety of personal, cultural and socio-economic issues through readings, reflective writing, classroom discussions, exposure to special guest speakers from Watsonville, hands-on participation and experience in Watsonville. Applications for the Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program at UCSC are due February 8, 2019! The Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program at the University of California-Santa Cruz (UCSC) is a two-year program and life-long network. It serves students with the highest potential to make sustained contributions as conservation innovators and leaders and to increase the racial, ethnic and cultural diversity of the conservation field. The program is looking for 20 passionate, ...creative undergraduate students from any major, currently in their freshman or sophomore years or with at least two more years of college left. Doris Duke Conservation Scholars must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or dreamers enrolled at or accepted as transfer students to four-year colleges or universities anywhere in the United States or its territories.
