The UC Berkeley SAGE Scholars Program

Last week SAGE Scholars graduated our final class of amazing students as the program winds down. Words cannot express how proud we are of our current students, incredible alumni, and the caring staff and volunteers who have invested their time, energy and love into this program. As one wise student said during our sweet-bitter graduation celebration: "It sounds corny, but SAGE will live on in us because each of us will continue to share the skills we've learned and the message that every student can develop leadership and career expertise." Hear, hear.

Now that the spring semester (and job search!) are in full swing here at Cal, here's some good advice about what trending employers are looking for when hiring:

Yes, it's Dead Week - sorry, RRR Week - here at Cal. But it's also a reminder for some that job search is about to become a higher priority. If you're about to look for a job or in the process, here's a valuable suggestion on the *right* way to follow up on a submitted resume or application.

Speaking of that dreaded interview or networking question, "Tell me about yourself" -- here's a great article with some out-of-the-box suggestions for how to answer it. Just don't forget: the style of your answer has to fit who *you* are and *your* style first and foremost.
