University City Little League 29.01.2021

UCLL Parents - We hope you and your family are well in the start of the New Year! We wanted to provide an update on the 2021 Spring Season because of some of the challenges we as a Country and State are still facing due to COVID. So far we have seen a huge drop off in sign ups this season, we believe and understand that some parents are still waiting to see how this situation improves in the next month or two. Because of this uncertainty and the fact that we need more kids t...o sign up in order to make this season happen, we are going to be postponing our previously released 2021 schedule for player assessments (January 23rd) and the start of the season (March 13). We are still very optimistic we will be playing this season, but want to ensure the safe play for our players, coaches and families. Our league is meeting with other little leagues in the District this coming week to find out what other leagues are doing, sharing ideas and putting a plan in place for us to start the season. We also have the ability to continue our season into June/July, which would allow us to get a full season in if we delay our normal start date. Even if the County delays issuing game permits, we plan on putting teams together in each division and hold practices until we can eventually play games. Please continue to sign your players up at www.ucll.org so we can solidify the plans to purchase uniforms, baseballs and develop our season schedule. We know these are uncertain times, but also know how important it is for our kids to get outside, with their friends and begin playing baseball again. We want to remind parents that the league is taking steps to ensure the safety of our families by purchasing additional PPE (masks, hand sanitizer, sanitizer wipes etc.) for each team and will be following all of the guidelines put out by the County and State for safe play. If you have any questions about sign ups or the season, you can reach out to your individual division player agent or league President Ryan Preston. Looking forward to seeing you all this season! Spring 2021 registration is now open! And to encourage kids to get back on the field, we are keeping last year's unbeatable price (FREE) for T-ball, MAPS and Challenger, and we are dropping the price for Minors and Intermediate to $100. Our registration site is https://tshq.bluesombrero.com/universitycityll This year due to COVID, registration will be entirely online. The forms needed are on both the registration site and our UC Little League site https://www.ucll.org... UCLL wants to assure you that safety is our #1 concern. The league has already loaded up on supplies and will be purchasing sanitizer and PPE for each team that will be readily available for each player (masks, hand sanitizer, sanitizer wipes), in addition to adhering to safety procedures put out by the State, County and Little League International.

UCLL 2021 Spring Registration Information We know the recent news of the County of San Diego going into the purple tier was not a step in the right direction when it comes to getting back to normal, but our league is full steam ahead in our planning and preparation for the 2021 season. With what we have seen in little leagues and travel ball in other parts of the country that are playing baseball safely and successfully, we are optimistic that we will be playing baseball game...Continue reading

UCLL Parents - We hope you and your family are doing well at this time. It has been a while since we have had any baseball activities in UC and our new Board of Directors has been working hard to ensure we can play baseball this coming spring. In the next few days you will be receiving some information about Spring 2021 sign-ups and important dates to consider leading up to the 2021 season (registration, assessments, player announcements etc.). We are optimistic we will be a...ble to play games this spring and are working in that direction to make sure we can have a fun and safe season! With that said, we are very excited to announce an upcoming baseball and agility skills clinic on Saturday, December 5th from 1:00pm -4:00pm. For this clinic, we have secured some special guests from Parisi Speed School, UCSD Baseball, Canyonside Cages and are working on a few surprise guests to really make this event fun for the kids and provide some real skills training which they can take with them the rest of their sports carriers. This clinic will focus on speed and agility for half of the clinic and specific baseball stations to work on shaking off the baseball cobwebs... This clinic is open for all ages and we will be tailoring the clinic to be fun for each age group. Registration is open for this event until Friday, November 27th, so don't delay to secure your spot! We will be sending out a reminder email a week prior to the clinic for those who signed up along with a waiver you will need to bring to the field when you sign your child in. Face masks are not required for the youth participants, but they can wear them if they/you feel more comfortable. All adults and coaches will be wearing masks during the clinic, as we want to ensure everyone is safe and comfortable with the clinic set up. Don't hesitate to reach out to President Ryan Preston if you have any follow up questions or concerns. We are really excited to be gearing up to play some baseball this coming year and think this clinic is a great way to kick the 2021 season off. You can sign up by clicking the link below which will lock you in for your spot in the clinic. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F084AADA628A3F85-ucll

UCLL Parents - We just got word from Little League International that they are recommending suspending the baseball season until at least April 6th. So as of now, there will be no practices or games until more information is received and we are provided clearance.
