Research suggests that young people are more stressed, anxious, and depressed than other age groups during COVID-19, writes Sophie McMullen for The Greater Go...od Science Center But why is this? It may be due to the tendency for young people to focus on knowledge-seeking goals, which are more emotionally taxing, and their preference for novel social interactions for building their network. Additionally, the loss of rituals and transition to online education may play major factors in the well-being of young people as well. What can be done to help? Young people should work to reclaim their rituals, find ways to stay connected, and savor and nurture positive emotions that arrive.
