USAC COUNCIL ANNOUNCEMENT: On Tuesday, March 25th at the USAC Council meeting, council voted to have a special council meeting on Friday, March 28th at 6:00pm t...o discuss USAC Palestinian solidarity statements. However, it was brought to our attention that this time conflicts with Shabbat. With this in mind, the council has decided to withdraw this meeting and move the discussion to our next council meeting on Tuesday, June 1st at 7:00 pm in order to accommodate all students for public comment. The agenda will then be posted this coming Friday, May 28th at 7:00 pm. If you have any questions or would like to submit a written public comment to be read at council please email Cassandra Gatica, the USAC IVP: [email protected]

Please the statement of solidarity above. PIC ID: slide 1: Statement of Solidarity is written in white text over a orange strip at the top. There is a blue b...ackground and an orange outline of Royce Hall in the bottom right. On the bottom left is the USAC logo with Swipe to read our full statement and an arrow underneath. In the middle of the graphic it states The undergraduate student associations council (USAC) stands in solidarity with the Mother Organizations as they attempt to reclaim their student run and student initiated spaces from the UCLA administration. PIC ID: slide 2: Letter to UCLA administration, CPO Administration, and Campus community is written in white text over a orange strip at the top. There is a blue background that reads We, the Undergraduate Students Association Council of UCLA, amplify the concerns presented by the Mother Organizations (MOs) regarding the unjustifiable practices of the Community Programs Office (CPO) administration. The CPO administration has undermined the authority of students within their student-initiated, student-funded, student-run programs at UCLA for over 15 years. We, as Council, do not stand with the UCLA administration in ignoring and silencing student voices in this issue and fully support the coalition in its efforts to reclaim a space that was meant to be led by students, for students. As a Council, we want to acknowledge that the Statement of Understanding (SOU) between USAC, the Vice Chancellor and Assistant Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, and the committee leadership has been continually undermined. The Vice Chancellor provided an inadequate response that does not uplift student work or satisfy student demands. Particularly, students have raised concerns regarding: Lack of transparency and illegitimate administrative control of over $1 million in student fees by the CPO and Student Affairs administration, and

The Mother Organization Coalition at UCLA and its retention and access/outreach projects under the CRC and SIOC are no longer willing to stand by while the admi...nistrators of the university blatantly ignore and dismiss students’ ongoing concerns. Join us on Monday, May 24th at 1pm at the Student Activities Center for an in-person demonstration to reclaim student-initiated, student-funded, student-run programs and spaces.
