UCI International Summer Session

UCI Anteaters! . As a reminder, the last day to add, drop, or change grade option with the instructor’s signature for Summer Session I is July 5, 2019. . Also, the summer session office will be closed on July 4th but will be open on July 5th.

Congratulations to our former Freshman Edge Participant and Visiting International Mentor, Truong Xe on graduating with adouble majors under theUC Irvine School of Social Sciencess in business economics and social policy & public service, and certification as an ABA-accredited paralegal. He did this within 3 years of study at theUniversity of California, Irvinee and he is going to bring that knowledge with him after college to make difference for marginalized communities thro...ugh research, outreach, and activism. During his time at UCI, he’s pursued and presented research on sustainability and public policy, and worked as a course assistant for three classes and programs in three different schools. He’s mentored high school students on financial literacy and law practices, and first year undergrads on college readiness methods. He’s traveled abroad to work with underprivileged communities while holding part-time jobs in everything from tax work to legal aide all in addition to being an active member in his fraternity,UC Irvine - Alpha Kappa Psii and UCI’s student government,Associated Students UCI (ASUCI)) . Laguna Beach Night Trip On Thursday of Week 5, our students enjoyed the last free trip of the summer: the Laguna Beach Night Trip! They were able to ride the trolley, visit Laguna Beach’s best kept secret spots, eat at international restaurants, and see the Art Walk which happens every first Thursday of the month at Laguna Beach. This three day weekend our students went to San Francisco! They got to see the Golden Gate Bridge, visit Union Square, and enjoy a cable car ride. A professional tour guide accompanied the group as they visited Downtown San Francisco, the crooked Lombard Street, Twin Peaks, Presidio Park, Golden Gate Park, and Fisherman’s Wharf. We will be having our transcript workshop today to help fill you in on all of the questions and concerns you may have about transcripts.
