Canine #osteosarcoma is a painful malignant tumor of the bone. This new #veterinaryclinicaltrial will evaluate if treating earlier with an inhaled drug will improve outcome when combined with standard of care chemotherapy. . We are looking to enroll dogs diagnosed with osteosarcoma that have been recommended for surgery and chemotherapy. This trial is unique because owners are trained to provide inhalation treatments at home which allows for greater comfort to patients. ... . This new trial will evaluate if a specific type of #whitebloodcell called a #Blymphocyte plays a role in the development of chronic pain in dogs with a CCL injury. . This trial is enrolling dogs with CCL ruptures who will have TPLO surgery @ucdavisvetmed. The cost of screening and follow up exams will be covered by the s...tudy and you will receive a $100 gift card at the final visit for participating. . Our trials are open and enrolling! Meet Elton! This handsome fellow is a patient in our #veterinaryclinicaltrial that evaluates if dogs with elbow #osteoarthritis who receive a food supplement that contains undenaturated collagen are using their affected legs better than when they receive a placebo. . Elton and Dr. Marcellin-Little are nicely demonstrating the force plate system. This special walkway has plates in the ground that patients walk on which helps clinicians & researchers evaluate how patients are d...istributing weight and pressure on the limbs when walking. . It's time for another edition of the VCCT Friday staff spotlight Hi! My name is Lisa and I'm one of the nuclear imaging clinical trials coordinators at the VCCT! I started working part-time with the VCCT right at the beginning of the pandemic and have really enjoyed working with our imaging patients! The other 50% of my time is spent as the Associate Director of the Veterinary Institute for Regenerative Cures (VIRC) @ucdavis_virc where I run and manage regenerative med...icine (stem cell) veterinary clinical trials. I started working at UC Davis Vet Med in 2018 and prior to that, I was an SRAIV and manager of preclinical cancer imaging for a lab in UCD Biomedical Engineering for over 10 years. I'm a UCD alum with a B.S. and M.S. degree and have been associated with UC Davis since 2001. My favorite part of working at UCD is the wide variety of things I get to do each day which keeps me on my toes and makes each day different! At home, I have a 1st grader, a 3rd grader, a husband and one crazy cleft palate Frenchie who is the life of the party!

Your daily dose of furry cuteness is brought to you today by Jordan who suggests everyone should take the time to find a perfect, peaceful sunspot to cozy up in . Jordan is a #caninemelanoma patient in our #veterinaryclinicaltrial that uses a new inhaled #immunotherapy approach to treat dogs who have caninemelanoma or #canineosteosarcoma with #lungmetastasis. What's unique about this trial is that owners are trained on how to use a #nebulizer so that they have the fl...exibility to treat their pets at home. Jacque Y is our #clinicaltrialcoordinator for this trial and loves the days Jordan comes in for his follow up visits! . Our trials are open and enrolling!
