Two years ago, Deeba Fuess’s unborn child was diagnosed with #spinabifida. She had fetal surgery at the UC Davis Fetal Care and Treatment Center to repair his spine and prevent further damage. Now baby Landen is 2 years old and is an active and happy little boy!

This is the 50th hospital room decoration that Dec My Room has funded for UC Davis Children's Hospital. Kalon wanted an Avatar: The Last Airbender and Anime-themed room and they brought his dream to life! @decmyroom is a non-profit organization that was created to enhance the lives of children who are being admitted into a hospital for a prolonged amount of time. Their volunteers choose items based on the pediatric patient’s likes and interests. Our Child Life Specialists and Creative Art Therapy team decorates the patient's room to enjoy during their stay. When it’s time to leave, the patient takes everything with them.

Nine-month-old conjoined twins Abigail and Micaela Bachinskiy are recovering at UC Davis Children’s Hospital after surgeons successfully separated them in a marathon surgery on Oct. 23 and 24. This is a landmark surgery for us at UC Davis Children’s Hospital, said pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Michael Edwards. Abigail and Micaela are doing well and recovering in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, thanks to an amazing team effort dedicated to ensuring these very rare twins have the best shot at a healthy life ahead. Halloween looks different this year, but our child life team is bringing Halloween fun to our kids in the hospital this week. Activities include Halloween bingo via Zoom, pumpkin decorating, Halloween-themed crafts and a costume day where they will deliver free costumes from Spirit Halloween to each child's room!

Our NICU graduate Kaliah is all ready for her first Halloween! "We thought that only a Wonder Woman costume would fit her perfectly, considering she was such a fighter! " said her mom Teylor.
