Pickled figs are delicious and a little exotic. Perfect for an impressive charcuterie board. They pair beautifully with a pork roast or poultry. The syrup is sweet and sour and can be used for many things including a vinaigrette for a salad featuring fresh figs, over cheesecake, or drizzle over mini-brie cheese for an elegant appetizer. Did you can apple juice? This is a fun project. Fyi - our home preserved apple juice is technically apple cider. "The official description from the Massachusetts Department of Agriculture says cider is "raw apple juice that has not undergone a filtration process to remove coarse particles of pulp or sediment." On the other hand, apple juice undergoes filtration to remove pulp and is then pasteurized to extend the shelf life"
