THIS @kids.eat.in.color said it PERFECTLY! Because sometimes we need to eat what we can afford... Or stress eat. ... Or accept hospitality. We need to share the same food as our child. Or eat what is in store. Or celebrate someone’s birthday. Or we need to eat what the food pantry has. Or fuel our body. Or eat for our medical condition. We need to eat what our child didn’t finish. Or eat what we can grab with one hand while feeding the baby. We need to eat for long term health. Or just because we had a hankering. Or because we needed a reason for a first date. We need to eat because we are human. Let’s not put down another person or their dignity in our personal quest for health. Go ahead, eat what you want, eat for your body, eat what you can afford and what you can access, but don’t create anxiety and angst for someone different than you. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS BAD FOOD! This is such a valid point to think about! Why have we built a world that when our body tells us we are hungry, we think of every possible way to curb or rid of that hunger versus just addressing it by feeding and nourishing ourselves. Listen to your body!

Pre-pandemic when going out for dinner didn’t have to be contemplated and was enjoyable. Had some yummy zucchini cakes at Lokanta in Walnut Creek @ Lokanta Walnut Creek

Something to think about today! FITSPO or FITSPIRATION - I included an article in stories. Studies show that fitspiration posts, gym posts and accounts associated with promoting these types of things do nothing to increase exercise rates or a change in current behavior. Instead, they just make consumers feel worse about their bodies. So if these messages seem to be doing more harm than good, what type of message do we want to not only put out in to the world but perceive today? Something worth being mindful of!

Listen to your body. Not an app.
