This morning. Fall at its finest...

I missed #worldIBDday yesterday so here we go. 1.6 million Americans are affected by Ulcerative Colitis and Crohns, most of whom are diagnosed before 35. Me being one of them. My journey with the disease was filled with surgeries, long hospital stays and bag on my stomach for almost a year. Although I no longer have #UC, not having a colon comes with its own set of challenges. Regardless of the severity, those affected by IBD know how consuming, debilitating, exhausting, emba...rrassing and painful it can be which is why so many silently suffer along. It’s been a long journey to where I am now but the scars on my stomach are a reminder of how far I’ve come. Almost 7 years since my diagnosis, I’m beyond thankful to be back doing the things I love with the people I love. I don’t talk about this stuff much anymore but if sharing my story helps anyone, then mission accomplished. If you’re struggling, you're not the only one.
