Landscaping has low cost options with big impact. Landscaping is good for your health by improving air quality , eliminating dust , smoke, pollutants, and overall clearing the air we breathe. It lowers blood pressure and reduces stress, and boosts immune system; research is still being done on the affects of time spent in nature and increase in anti-cancer proteins. Short-term symptoms of depression and anxiety are improved simply by being in your garden or working on the l...andscape, and one study called "Interacting with Nature Improves Cognition and Affect for Individuals with Depression" showed how exercising outdoors instead of indoors improves self-esteem and overall mood Landscaping will increase your property's value (6-13% increase compared to properties with no landscaping, some sources say the increase can be as high as 25% !) Plants that require less water can lower the cost of the water bill, and even keep the environment of the home much cooler There are so many benefits to Landscaping (and gardeninf) and so much information out there- if you wanted to get your hands a little dirty and make huge impact, we hope you found this post motivating! There are plenty of information platforms for the latest updates on the Coronavirus- but what about info related to your mental and emotional well-being; your state of mind? For today's Monday Mindset/ Make Lemonade, we want to share some ideas on how to elevate the mind and emotions with the understanding that FEELING as if you're alone can make it SEEM impossible to get out of your own head; But you are NOT alone! If you're just a sucker for great speakers who discuss p...owerful topics related to RESILIENCE, or if you want some GUIDANCE on WHAT to think about that will help UPLIFT you, MOTIVATE you and get your head in a space where you begin feeling hopeful, in-charge, balanced, positive, and capable-head to a seemingly endless library via Spotify's Podcast radios, Podcasts on your iPhone, or Google Android's Play Store, or search online- We made a list of Podcasts to browse, to feed your brain with some AMAZING perspective and facts relatable to our experience in these challenging times The Daily Stoic (suggested episode "The Important Thing is to Not Be Afraid" or "It's Okay to Ask For Help" Tony Robbins "Stand guard at the door of your mind- Tony Robbins on why Disciplining your fears and controlling your focus is important now more than ever" The Richie Norton Show "Tools to Thrive During Disruption" or "Get Better, Not Bitter: How to Get Unstuck in Times of Uncertainty" Invisibiilia "Emotions" Part 1. The best thing about Podcasts?...You can listen to them while you drive, do dishes, fold laundry, cook food, sweep or vaccum, work in the garage, clean the room, water the garden, put dishes away, clean your desktop, paint a wall, go on a jog, a bike ride or stretch ...ANYTIME you are using your HANDS and WORKING on something that doesn't require complete mental focus (some argue that driving is an activity that should be done from the body's center or intelligence, and not the mind but we'll leave that one up to you do decide ) . . #resilience2020 #communityiseverything #gymunite #immunity #mindset #fitness #makelemonade #onwardupward #mentaltoughness #novirusinme #iweall #makelemonade @tylersgym See more

During Quaran-Time, whether you have more free time, or less free time, you are probably sitting or standing for more hours than you used to. --whether it be watching netflix, working on a computer, on social media, or at a standing desk-But part of being healthy and fit is simply MOVING YOUR BODY! The health of your body and mind RELIES on your movement. So get up and try these quick motions to increase blood-flow, increase your heart-rate & release some endorphins for... your own well-being 1. Reach up overhead- stretch your arms way up to the sky! 2. Twist your Torso (keep your core tight though), swiveling side-to-side or even bending down and up! 3. Kick your Legs bringing knees up to chest, or bringing heels to butt, or both! 4. Jump around! Bounce in-in place, do some Jumping Jacks, Run in-place, or skip across the room! Bottom Line THIS IS A TIME OF RESILIENCE PEOPLE! We have to stay healthy, so don't stay in one place for too long! The gold standard: getting up at least every half hourwhether it be going through these simple steps 1-4, walking around the block, or strolling to the kitchenis a good habit to get into Now time for a big stretch! Who wants to become a Yale course graduate? Most of us have a topic they would love to be more knowledgeable in, but usually have a reason (excuse) not to take a course about it. Well now those reasons are out the window. On top of that, many online educational resources are offering discounts or even free classes, especially for topics related to dealing with the pandemic. Yale is now offering one of their most popular online courses titled The Science of Well Being for F...REE!!! Take advantage of this opportunity to better deal mentally with the current situation, but also set yourself up for being better prepared for life AFTER it as well. "In this course you will engage in a series of challenges designed to increase your own happiness and build more productive habits. As preparation for these tasks, Professor Laurie Santos reveals misconceptions about happiness, annoying features of the mind that lead us to think the way we do, and the research that can help us change. You will ultimately be prepared to successfully incorporate a specific wellness activity into your life." Offered by Yale! Head over to Coursera.com and search The Science of Well-Being - it is a FREE course completely done online and you can even reset deadlines to go at your own pace, and fit around your schedule. . . #resilience2020 #communityiseverything #gymunite #immunity #mindset #fitness #makelemonade #onwardupward #mentaltoughness #novirusinme #iweall #mindsetmonday #makelemonade #adapttheysaid #itllbefuntheysaid #mentaltoughnessforever #lemonadestand @tylersgym See more

Start a Family YouTube Channel. Here are some topics to consider: - Use it to document things that you will care about as a family in 20 years such as how you dealt with the pandemic of 2020. - If you are a musical family, broadcast your performance... -If you are beginning a family project, record footage of the process, and watch the film "Before & After" when it's complete -Make a production- if you have a housefull of little actors, put on a play or show as a fa...mily. Select a member to be the screenwriter, the performers, the media experts... when the production is complete, get your popcorn ready and invite others to watch live with you for "Movie Night"! The great thing about our technology is we CAN capture processes and sentiments through videos and pictures, even from our phones, and with the help of Social Media, we can save and compile those processes and sentiments in a way that can be shared with our loved ones across across the country, state, and during these isolated times, virtually. Youtube is easy, and free to setup your own channel! #youtube #socialmedia #video #share #kidsathome #lockdownlife #corona #familyfun #familyquarantine #resilience2020 #communityiseverything #gymunite #immunity #mindset #fitness #makelemonade #onwardupward @tylersgym See more

Last week we gave you the SECRET Berry Smoothie Recipe. This week, going along those same lines and looking for ways to SUPPORT IMMUNITY, we want to shed some light on WHY we recommend blending Greens in your shake--The reasons for BLENDING your greens is MOST PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE TO EAT GREENSThe "hack" --blend them up in a shake! You STILL get the amazing nutrients from eating FRESH greens, you do not have to chew for hours to get a decent serving (in a blender, the ch...ewing is already done for you)and you don't even have to taste it!THAT'S 3 WINS RIGHT THEREOkay so why Kale? Kale has 134 percent of your daily vitamin C needs (twice as much as an orange), 206 percent of your vitamin A recs and 684 percent of your daily vitamin K. It has more calcium per serving than milk and is loaded with ALA, an important omega 3 fatty acid that keeps your brain sharp and heart throbbing. It's also easy for the human body to absorb. We chose the most leafy-green we could think of (although it is one of THE MOST nutrient-dense food out there) to show you just how you could blend it into a delish shake: Cocunut water, protein powder, strawberries and/or banana, and even a few drops of STEVIA and you will not even taste the #kale IF YOU TRY IT OUT THEN & TAG @tylersgym and we'll POST YOUR PIC ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA! . . #resilience2020 #communityiseverything #gymunite #immunity #mindset #fitness #makelemonade #onwardupward #mentaltoughness #novirusinme #iweall #mindsetmonday #makelemonade #adapttheysaid #itllbefuntheysaid #mentaltoughnessforever #lemonadestand @tylersgym See more

Feelings of anxiousness, depression, anger, are just some of the new emotions many are experiencing as individuals and as a culture, and perhaps what was felt to a degree BEFORE the Covid-19 pandemic, is AMPLIFIED now, to the point that individuals aren't sure what to do, how to live in this "new normal", what's expected or how to navigate daunting emotions. The truth is, outbreaks can have a major impact on people emotionally, and mentally, and stress does effect our physica...l bodies. Fortunately, no one is alone in those feelings, and there is such a demand for ADDRESSING those emotions, thoughts, and feelings, that for the first time in history Medicare has Okayed teletharapy; therapist and psychiatrist can provide care to patients through apps. Many other (FREE) resources are offered now; like the new Facebook Group monitored and run by professional therapists called: "Free Public Support Group to Manage Coronavirus Anxiety" along with the CDC's (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) subreddit group online "COVID19_support". Video calls with psychologists at Better Help, AmWell, Doctor on Demand, and Wellnite begin with a quick online questionnaire where you choose a payment plan and meeting frequency, and a therspist speaks with you within a few hours or days. Some tele-therapy sites are offering specials right now, due to increased stressed and trauma related to COVID-19- some of the sites are: Larkr, Real, ReGain, AbleTo, and MDLive. Bottom line: Coping with stress will make you, the people you care about, and your community stronger. How has the COVID-19 pandemic impacted your emotional health? *check out USA Today's online article titled : "Coronavirus: Stressed, depressed, and feeling bad? You're not alone. Working from home has very interesting benefits: there are more freedom and flexibility to manage your own schedule, no time wasted in commuting, dressing more comfortable for some But it also has its disadvantages: some people lose the ergonomic equipment they left at the office. No adapted chair, no adjustable screen, sometimes not even a suitable desk We sit all day, more or less comfortably, at best on a classic office chair, at worst slumped on the sofa. This is terr...ible for our posture and for the musculoskeletal balance, especially when one does not leave the house for the whole day, for weeks. The good news is that it is possible to compensate for this bad posture by practicing certain stretches regularly throughout the day! WHY IS STRETCHING IMPORTANT , you ask? -Well, WHAT'S BRITTLE, BREAKS. When a muscle is shortened and tight, it pulls on tendons and put your joints at risk. A muscle that is kept flexible means it can help a joint pass through a full range of motion, with less risk of damage or injury to the body. Stretching even Improves circulation and increases blood flow to your muscles, which can then shorten your recovery time and reduce muscle soreness (also known as delayed onset muscle soreness or DOMS). So, with all this FITNESSING you're doing as we close our 3rd week of the Resilience Challenge, remeber to incorporate stretching AS PART of your workout!! Reduce stress, reduce tension headaches, stay flexible and spry... "don't break" STRETCH! #stretching #mobility #exercise #resilience2020 #communityiseverything #gymunite #immunity #mindset #fitness #makelemonade #onwardupward #mentaltoughness #novirusinme #iweall @tylersgym See more

Cute animated pictures of lemons aside -and we'll bring this back around- But FIRST: have you heard about the autobiography ""Man's Search For Meaning?"" It is an account of psychiatrist Viktor Frankle's experience in Auschwitz. Before his time in concentration camps, Frankl was a professor of neurology and psychiatry at the University of Vienna, directed the neurology department at the Vienna Polyclinic Hospital, and successfully counseled high school students to virtua...lly eliminate suicide. Because of these accomplishments, he was asked to head the suicide prevention department of the General Hospital in Vienna. After treating thousands of people over the four years he was there, Frankl took a position as the head of the neurological department at the Rothschild Hospital Frankle's teachings emphasize that people have the power to find meaning in anything they do. He then used his own methods during his time in concentration camp (where Frankl’s father died and where, over the course of three years, Frankl was moved between four concentration camps, including Auschwitz where his brother died and his mother was killed as well and his wife died at Bergen-Belsen) to survive and motivate his peers around him. "Frankl believed that even in the midst of dehumanizing and atrocious conditions, life still had meaning and that suffering had a purpose. Frankl thought that during extreme physical circumstances, a person could escape through his or her spiritual self as a means to survive seemingly unbearable conditions. He believed the spiritual self could not be affected by external forces." Now, we KNOW this post is a bit heavy, but we want to be clear that Motivation Monday is not a light, silly topic that we post just because it starts with an ""M"". Truth is, these are trying times! People are afraid, dying, and the social distance has understandably hard by-products of loneliness, not to mention how people's livelihood and relationships have been affected! We believe that Frankl's work in logotherapy and ""Man's Search for Meaning"" is a testament to the incredible power of our minds, our beliefs, and focus. So, when you think of MONDAY MINDSET or MAKE See more

To ward off loneliness during this crazy times, we've got to learn to connect and communicate in ways we might not have done before. You should work out what sort of relationship you have with someone normally, then find what its digital equivalent is. For example, if you see your mates once a week for a board game, you could arrange to play over video chat or find an online game you can play together. Bottom line? : Just because you can’t physically be together, doesn’t mean... you can’t spend some time! HERE are some free apps to do that while stuck at home: Houseparty FaceTime Zoom Marco Polo Google Meet (And when you do call, try not to just talk about coronavirus. ) #socialdistancing #resilience2020 #communityiseverything #gymunite #immunity #mindset #fitness #makelemonade #onwardupward #mentaltoughness #novirusinme #iweall @tylersgym See more

Week 3 in our Resilience Challenge!Have you noticed how your breathing can affect your stress-level?You probably have! So we know how our awareness of breath can bring us to the present moment, and is a great way to calm the mind. And we even know that breath-work calms us down as we fall asleep, or when we're meditating.-We want to review this effective "Box-Breathing" technique. The idea is:4 second breathe in- you are "drawing" one side of the box. 4 second hold y...our breath- you are drawing the topside of the box or square.4 second exhale- draws the 3rd line down,4 second hold- completes the square.Check out "guided box breathing on youtube and turn the volume on to practice and follow along- TIPS: Breathe in calmly, through your nose.
