One year ago we had our last day of school before sheltering in place. Since that day we have transitioned in and out of distance learning and live instruction in cohorts. We are grateful that we have been successful with in-person instruction since September 22, 2020 and as of today 65% of our staff have received the COVID vaccine. This year has been an immense challenge, full of growth and patience, but also this year we rejoiced in the dedication of our staff, the support of our families, and the bond we will always share as we manage this pandemic as one unit. Thank you to all that are part of our TLCS, TLMS and TLC family. We appreciate you!

Today we congregated to the field as a school to worship on this National Day of Prayer. This is the first time this school year that as a school we United together, distanced in our pods with masks on. Mrs. Imel led us in prayer while Mrs. Kraft and Mr. Cervantes graced us with worship songs. It was a beautiful moment to reflect on this year and all that God has blessed us with.

Our color fun run is this Friday, February 5th. We can’t wait to get our students out for a fun and colorful run to fundraise for our school! If you would like to volunteer for your child’s class please refer to the email sent home with the link attached. We hope to see you this Friday!

Today was Christmas Spirit day and our students and staff delivered! It was so nice to have a change of pace and just enjoy the spirit of the season. We enjoyed caroling, candy canes and costume contests. Thank you to all that participated today.

If you happen to miss the deadline, never fear, we have an emergency supply in the office as well.

Did you know that TLCS has an Amazon Smile account? What that means is that when shopping on Amazon a percentage of all your purchases gets donated to the school. All you need to do is to login to Amazon Smile and choose Twin Lakes Baptist Church, Inc. as your charity. Any future purchases made will then apply to the school. Drive For Schools Update: Our final numbers are in and as a school we raised $23,520! Thank you to all the families and students that participated in this important fundraiser. Not only does this money go towards the supplies that were purchased in order for our school to transition to live instruction, but $3,525 will also be given to Pastor Rene to support Second Harvest Food Bank! This check will provide over 14,000 meals to our local families in need. In addition to this ...check, we also have some prizes and awards given to a few lucky families for participating in our Drive For Schools fundraiser. Drumroll please...... Congratulations to our Week 5 Top Selling Class, Mrs. Craig's 1st Grade. Congratulations Emmalyn Prather for winning our final week Noland Surf Shop basket! (Come by the school office to grab your goodies.) Congratulations to our OVERALL Top Selling Class, Mrs. Riggan's 5th Grade. And finally...Congratulations to our GRAND PRIZE school credit winners. Middle School recess has been elevated with a second 9 square, badminton, volleyball and more basketball hoops. Grateful for live instruction indoors and many options to engage outdoors as well. We are thankful for the abundance of normalcy on campus in a time when life is anything but normal. @9squareintheair
