Okay folks, I'm hanging my gardening tools up and taking my practice down off the line! We have officially been given "permission" to begin doing massage therapy again! After the shock of having my work considered "non-essential" I relaxed into the rhythms of my land and enjoyed being at home "massaging" my gardens, trails, and creek banks. I was grateful to have had space to roam during the stay at home! However, I missed you all and look forward to our interactions and being of service to my human friends again! Of course we have mandated protocols to follow which out of professionalism I will be adhering to. Masks will be required for both of us and I am happy to post a list of what I will be doing (have always done) to keep my space and supplies disinfected and safe for you all.

...and so the sun sets on the first day of the next level of "Stay at Home" order for me. As of Friday afternoon Massage Therapy was determined to be non-essential in California. We are to stop practicing and stay at home. I will miss you my clients! Be safe, be well! I will rest up so I can be of good service when we get through this.

How to Hack Your Nervous System: The vagus nerve is the most important nerve you probably didn’t know you had! It is a long meandering bundle of motor and sen...sory fibers linking the brain stem to the heart, lungs, and gut. It also branches and interacts with the liver, spleen, gallbladder, ureter, female fertility organs, neck, ears, tongue, and kidneys. It powers up our involuntary nerve centerthe parasympathetic nervous systemand controls unconscious body functions, as well as everything from keeping our heart rate constant and food digestion to breathing and sweating. Powerful stuff! It helps regulate blood pressure and blood glucose balance, promotes general kidney function, helps release bile and testosterone, stimulates the secretion of saliva, assists in controlling taste and releasing tears, and plays a major role in fertility issues and orgasms in women. The vagus nerve uses the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which stimulates muscle contractions in the parasympathetic nervous system. Vagus nerve dysfunction can result in a range of problems including obesity, bradycardia (abnormally slow heartbeat), difficulty swallowing, gastrointestinal diseases, fainting, mood disorders, B12 deficiency, chronic inflammation, impaired cough, and seizures. Meanwhile, the vagus nerve stimulation has been shown to improve conditions such as: Anxiety disorder Heart disease Tinnitus Obesity Alcohol addiction Migraines Alzheimer’s Leaky gut Bad blood circulation Mood disorder Cancer Auto immune disease rheumatoid arthritis Chronic pain Cancer So simply put here are 10 ways to stimulate the vagus nerve simply without electrical devices: 1. Slow deep breathing. An example would be to breathe in slowly for a count of 4 and out for a count 6 to 8. The average normal breathing rate is between 12 and 14 per minute. This slow breathing reduces it to 6 to 7 per minute. 2. Any exposure to cold. eg rinse your hands and face in cold water. 3. Singing, chanting, gargling and humming 4. Laughter 5. Restorative yoga postures such as the cat cow posture and downward dog 6. Meditation. 7. Evoking the emotions of love, compassion and empathy. 8. Exercise 9. Massage/acupuncture, acupressure/ kinesiology 10. Intermittent fasting If you would like a Kinesiology Balance to Support your Nervous System and your wellbeing please pm
