We live in the SF Bay Area, have traveled extensively but are not frequent visitors to the area. One of our group found Twelve 28 and booked reservations. I expected nice country cookin but was blown away by the quality of the food while still having a down-to-earth local atmosphere. The food was absolutely fabulous. Precisely prepared with unique compositions of flavors that just worked. Started with a corn chowder that had just a hint of a kick of hot, layers of flavors and just the right thickness/texture. Then a halibut that had a prefect light crisp to the flesh and wonderful mix of sauces and accoutrements/sauces that were delish. We shared a blueberry cobbler to end the meal that was totally fresh and had a wonderful creamy texture to the cake. The service was friendly, prompt, professional without being stuffy. A place you could dine at and/or hang equally. The family who own/run the place brings that unique mix together in a unique way - reminiscent of little finds in Europe. A must visit. Easily 5 STARS!!!!!

We had one of our former kitchen staff fall on some hard times. He would do whatever for you and always do it with a smile. If you could look into your heart and bank account, anything would be greatly appreciated and I know he would be more than grateful! Thanks everyone! He has left his cashapp ID to send money.

You only need to check out their menu on their website to realize this is no ordinary food! But the descriptions of the unique, interesting cuisine can't prepare you for the amazing combinations of flavor and texture! The chef is endlessly creative, using fresh seasonal ingredients in unique combina...tions. The plating is also exquisite - it's a treat for the eyes as well as the pallet. All this is served up in an environment that is casually elegant. This is a family restaurant, and guests are treated with warmth and respect. Penn Valley maybe a little out of the way, but you would have to go a long, long way to equal the experience of a meal at Twelve 28 Kitchen! See more

Finally got a chance to actually SEE how our brother changes lives one day at a time...feeding the hungry is no easy task, but one that deserves the attention any day of the week, let alone the times we are in now.
