What makes a customer-centric supply chain different from a traditional one? Recent research from Accenture says they are tailored to the customer, agile, trustworthy, and innovative with technology as the backbone of operations. https://hubs.la/H0yBF4m0
Build your own systems or partner and buy to manage the supply chain? Ah...in transportation management that is the question. Shawn Barker of Turvo takes us through the age old debate and provides the reasons why some build in-house, the challenges, the benefits of a bought system, & advanced features that take supply chains to the next level of a platform like Turvo. https://hubs.la/H0yJkGq0
Nick Reasoner, CEO of TransLoop, a digital freight brokerage, and Jeff Dangelo, Co-Founder of Turvo, a collaborative logistics technology platform, joins "The Logistics of Logistics" podcast Host, Joe Lynch. Unilever has 3,000 planners. They spend 70% of their time on gathering, validating, interpreting and consolidating data. That leaves 20% for making decisions and 10% for collaborating with other people either within the company or within the #supplychain. That has to change. The 70% is largely spent on repetitive tasks, all of which could be automated." https://hubs.la/H0y7Hx30
Port X Logistics LLC has partnered with Turvo, a collaborative technology that sends customers alerts when the vessel is on the water, when it berths in a port, when the container is taken off the ship, and when it becomes available to pick up. "When the container gets back to our warehouse, we can post photos of the transload to Turvo. The customer in nearly real-time can see the photos of their cargo being transloaded from the container to the over-the-road truck. Then the customer can see as the driver progresses along his route in real-time."https://hubs.la/H0y7HwX0
In the end, in order to remain competitive, every task has to be completed efficiently and effectively. In order to do that, supply chains need to leverage both people and technology in a balanced way. https://hubs.la/H0y1ff10
The supply chain is a very fragmented group of people, systems and technology. So we’re talking about visibility on this panel today because we’re trying to find a better understanding of what’s happening throughout that supply chain." https://hubs.la/H0y30jX0
At Turvo, we are passionate about what we do. We strive to bring out the hidden potential within our clients, just the same as we do for ourselves. We want people who are looking for adventure, for something different and are willing to push themselves to become the best that they can be. Because for us to overhaul a centuries-old system that is the global supply chain it’s going to take a willingness to brave the unknown. https://hubs.la/H0xVV4Q0
Fragmented supply chains mean that companies seeking resilience, redundancy, and success will find it, albeit they will need to develop new supply chain management practices & apply new technologies that bring people, systems & processes together. https://hubs.la/H0xN_9F0
Catch Turvo Co-Founder, Jeffrey Dangelo, on FreightWaves SONAR's "Freight Forecasting" with Michael Vincent talking about the need to re-think collaboration, transparency and freight data in addition to technology's role in achieving that transformation. https://hubs.la/H0xN_ch0

When focusing on the movement of goods, transportation management systems (TMS) provide the engine for digitalization, but do not represent a complete digitalization solution. Complementary software and deep transportation expertise are required to achieve true real-time visibility and optimize capacity utilization. https://hubs.la/H0xydwR0
