The Price is Right Live has been a favorite show for many of our Theatre patrons over the years. Having graced our stage 3 times, most recently in January of this year (how long ago that seems!), it has been one of our most successful returning shows. Why? The answer is simple, audience participation. Dr. Roberta Anderson, one our distinguished Board members here at the Turlock Community Theatre, has a particular favorite performer, whom graced our stage twice, with the most recent being January of 2017. Garrison Keillor charmed the audience with the wit, humor and story telling prowess he is best known for on the Prairie Home Companion. But not only did he charm the audience during the performance, he stayed after the show to meet with his fans, and even take part in a scrumptious pie baked just for him by one of his devotees. Gracing the stage of the Turlock Community Theatre back in September of 2016 was Stockton’s very own Chris Isaak. This show was a favorite of Board member Michael Dini, who particularly remembers Chris bringing his brother on stage to sing Johnny Cash. Lots of great music (including his famous hit Wicked Game), stylish and fun costumes, and a walk through the audience as he sang, all added to this very memorable experience. Although we cannot gather in person for the great joy of live entertainment at this time, we can certainly relive in our minds and reminisce about some of our favorite performers to grace the stage at the Turlock Community Theatre. Kicking off this trip down memory lane, we asked our Turlock Community Theatre Managing Director, Kit Casey, what was one of his favorite performances. Kit said that being a child of the 80’s he loved the Rock and Roll of that time period, and on...e of the greats from that decade, Foreigner, put on an outstanding show at the Turlock Community Theatre in November of 2013. And even though some of the band members had changed over the years, when they played Turlock they held true to their greatest hits and had the audience out of their seats for the entire show! Update from the Turlock Community Theatre We at the Turlock Community Theatre strongly believe in the power of the arts and entertainment to enrich our lives, and while we are closed at this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we do want to share with you that we are preparing for our triumphant return! We are currently booking shows for a Winter/Spring 2021 season, in our eternally optimistic belief that things will be back to normal in the near future. Of course we are kee...ping a close eye on all of the latest updates regarding COVID-19 and are prepared to adjust our time frame as necessary. When that time comes for us to open the doors, we will be ready, safe, and raring to go with the live entertainment that we have all so sorely missed! Due to the current global health crisis as well as travel and performance restrictions, the Thursday, October 15, 2020 show on Lewis Black’s It Gets Better Every Day Tour at the Turlock Community Theatre has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 18, 2021. This very difficult decision was made following the recommendations of government authorities including the Center for Disease Control to reduce the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). All tickets for the ori...ginal performance will be honored, so patrons should hold on to their tickets. If patrons are unable to attend the rescheduled date, they will have the option to request a refund or donate their tickets back to the Turlock Community Theatre as a charitable contribution to our 501c(3) non-profit organization. For ticket and refund inquiries, please contact the Turlock Community Theatre at 209-668-1169 or at [email protected]. Current ticket holders will have until August 31, 2020 to request a refund.
