Halloween is around the corner! Just a friendly reminder, chocolate can be toxic to our precious fury friends. Some signs you should look out for are vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and lack of appetite. Severe cases can show signs of nervousness/restlessness, twitching, panting and even seizures. If you suspect your fur-baby has gotten into any candy, we advise you to immediately call the emergency clinic in Visalia, Tulare Kings Veterinary Emergency Hospital 559-739-7054. We hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!!

Tulare Veterinary Hospital is following the recommendations of the CDC and local government to reduce opportunities to spread the virus. We are implementing new protocols during this time. We will remain open at this time for emergency and specialty care for patients as usual. We are taking every step possible to make sure our staff stays healthy so we can continue to provide the best veterinary care for you. However, we ask that you remain in your vehicle upon arriving here... at the hospital. We ask that you call the office to check in (by phone) and we will notify when it is your turn to come in. We also ask that you limit the number of people coming with you to the hospital to yourself if possible, to help reduce opportunities to spread COVID-19. In regards to the ability of pets to transmit COVID-19 to owners, WHO and CDC state that there is no evidence to suggest that pets can be infected or spread COVID-19. If you are sick but believe your pet requires emergency attention, consider asking a friend or family member to bring your pet to us and we can work with you via phone regarding your pet’s condition and treatment consent. If you have questions or concerns, contact us at (559) 686-8544 We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and follow the advice of public health officials. We hope everyone is taking the necessary precautions to stay healthy and reduce the spread of COVID-19. Tulare Veterinary Hospital
