My man Lance swinging his swing that we've made work for him. At 72 years old he's extremely active and an amazing tennis player! Overall gifted athlete.. 6 months ago Lance came to me with the biggest slice you would ever see. He couldn't get rid of it and tried everything prior to lessons. So I had him do some drills where we closed everything off with his stance and exaggerated his club path to swing more inside to out. I had to train him to see the ball start off more to ...the right. Club path and visualization did wonders for him and we decided it's best to stick with the drill set up permanently when he plays. You gotta stick with what works and he's continued to improve greatly! The key here is to do what works for you. When he came to me his goal was to break 100 now he's shooting 85. SWING YOUR SWING, have realistic goals, and you will definitely improve your game. Nomar Garciaparra doing his famous toe tap even with his golf swing. He had a pretty good batting average so no way I'm touching that! He's absolutely crushing the ball and really putting to work what we've been grinding on. I'm loving his weekly improvements Along with other ball players I teach I see very similar patterns. They're all very strong but club path is always out to in because of that front shoulder pulling through which is the power source. First thing I alwa...ys do is jump on the club path issue while ingraining the proper rotation with upper and lower body. That creates the correct chain reaction of multiple parts in the swing which makes it effortless. With Nomar I use lots of his own baseball mechanics (wide stance, ball forward so he can snap his power) in his swing while I input golf mechanics. What do you get by doing that? Well you're not taking something away from what feels natural and I'm also giving them him is own unique swing that's repeatable for him. That's the main KEY! Some things you just don't mess with specially with world class athletes. YOU MAKE WHAT THEY HAVE BETTER! @sportscenter 's Stan Verrett is in the house putting in some quality work. Simple fixes with club path, and getting his body to rotate which is key for him. He had a left hip injury so I work around that to make him have a repeatable move. Everybody is different physically and that's why I've NEVER taught 1 swing fits all methods. Another reason is I was always taught natural ways to my personally game since junior golf. You will rarely see 2 people with the same swing that... I teach. Reason being is because I have the knowledge to make what people already have BETTER. That's the real key. It takes more effort to do anything the correct way but I take pride in tailoring swings for each client. There's no right or wrong I just do things my way keeping learning simple. Nomar Garciaparra is in the house Getting him to hit draws in minutes. His athleticism is incredible and helps! Working with baseball players I immediately know what the issue is. Lots of similarities to the golf swing although they love pulling the ball with front shoulder with a open face which leads to huge slices. Obstacle practice taking away and visualization is key for anyone to get the proper feel. This obstacle drill taking away left field along with getting him to... release the club made all the difference in the world. Like my man @coup4359 says, "find the cancer in the swing and fix it". I have a great eye for catching the little things. The next part is getting the client to understand it and do it in all cases.
