My man Lance swinging his swing that we've made work for him. At 72 years old he's extremely active and an amazing tennis player! Overall gifted athlete.. 6 months ago Lance came to me with the biggest slice you would ever see. He couldn't get rid of it and tried everything prior to lessons. So I had him do some drills where we closed everything off with his stance and exaggerated his club path to swing more inside to out. I had to train him to see the ball start off more to ...the right. Club path and visualization did wonders for him and we decided it's best to stick with the drill set up permanently when he plays. You gotta stick with what works and he's continued to improve greatly! The key here is to do what works for you. When he came to me his goal was to break 100 now he's shooting 85. SWING YOUR SWING, have realistic goals, and you will definitely improve your game. Nomar Garciaparra doing his famous toe tap even with his golf swing. He had a pretty good batting average so no way I'm touching that! He's absolutely crushing the ball and really putting to work what we've been grinding on. I'm loving his weekly improvements Along with other ball players I teach I see very similar patterns. They're all very strong but club path is always out to in because of that front shoulder pulling through which is the power source. First thing I alwa...ys do is jump on the club path issue while ingraining the proper rotation with upper and lower body. That creates the correct chain reaction of multiple parts in the swing which makes it effortless. With Nomar I use lots of his own baseball mechanics (wide stance, ball forward so he can snap his power) in his swing while I input golf mechanics. What do you get by doing that? Well you're not taking something away from what feels natural and I'm also giving them him is own unique swing that's repeatable for him. That's the main KEY!
