Day 14 Reset Detox: Congratulations! You completed the 14-day detox! Hopefully you experienced some positive changes and are feeling better than you did at the start. You can continue the detox diet as long as you desire however if you're ready to reintroduce foods back into your diet it's best to do so one-at-a-time to determine if you have a sensitivity to those foods. Symptoms you had prior to the detox that went away after the 2 weeks could be due to a sensitivity to a...ny food(s) you were previously eating. "Challenging" these foods is the gold standard for detecting underlying food sensitivities. Test each food individually and wait 2 days for any symptoms. For instance to test wheat, eat several serving of pasta on one day and then wait and watch for symptoms for the next 2 days (it's possible to have a delayed reaction to a food up to 48hrs after eating it). If you experience any symptoms within 2 days of eating the test food, put that food on your list of foods to avoid and wait until your symptoms subside before testing the next food. During the 2 day watch and wait period you may experience a return of your original symptoms or other symptoms including joint pain, fatigue, headaches, gas/bloating, stomach pain, skin rash, etc. If you do not have any symptoms 2 days after testing a particular food, you can add it into your diet and test the next food. NOTE: you do not have to test foods that you never eat and do not test foods that you already know cause symptoms. Support your detox organs! We are exposed to toxins on a daily basis...we can't avoid everything. So continue to practice some of the detox techniques you learned to support the elimination of toxins through your lungs, skin, kidneys, gut and liver. Congratulate yourself, you have a done a wonderful thing for your body and your overall health!

Day 13 Reset Detox: Pancakes are a favorite weekend breakfast and you can still enjoy them even on a detox. Being on a detox does not mean you have to give up your favorite foods....it's all about using healthy ingredients to recreate the foods you love. Try this yummy recipe below which includes fiber, healthy fat and spices to support detoxification. Orange Cardamom Blueberry Pancakes (Vegan, gluten-free) (from Birgitte Antonsen, Whole Food chef)... Ingredients 2 Tablespoons ground flax seed mixed with 6 tablespoons water 2 cups unsweetened almond milk, coconut milk or other milk alternative 2 cups rice flour or quinoa flour 6 drops stevia 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon cardamom (optional) 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 teaspoons orange zest (optional) 1/2 cup fresh organic orange juice (you can squeeze the juice from 2 organic oranges) 1/4 cup organic virgin coconut oil, melted 10 ounces fresh or frozen blueberries Organic virgin coconut oil for frying Directions: 1) Combine all ingredients except blueberries. The batter might need more liquid, so add some if needed. 2) Let the batter rest for 30 min before making the pancakes. 3) Preheat a skillet, add some coconut oil, when melted add 1/4 cup pancake batter and top with 6 to 8 blueberries. 4) Bake for about 5 minutes on medium heat. Turn and bake for another 5 minutes. Serve warm. Enjoy!

Day 12 Reset Detox: Proper breathing can transform your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health and is one of our health’s most potent tonics. Properly done, deep breathing re-establishes psychological, neurological, immunological and endocrinological balance and invigorates the entire being. The blood becomes saturated with oxygen, delivering it to each body cell, while carbon dioxide and other toxins are eliminated. Mental and physical relaxation is induced via act...ivation of the parasympathetic system. Heart rate and blood pressure decrease. With each breath, the movement of the diaphragm also gently massages the abdominal organs and significantly increases lymphatic drainage which helps support detoxification. The most efficient way to breathe is diaphragmatic breathing or belly breathing. This is the predominant method of breathing in healthy infants and young children, but as we get older we tend to breathe using our chest and shoulder muscles and less of our diaphragm. The exercise below will help you to relearn the most healthful way of breathing. Belly Breathing If belly breathing is practiced regularly it can again become second nature to us. This is a natural way to reduce stress and improve circulation. Pick a comfortable position either sitting, standing or lying on your back. It might be helpful to practice this for the first few times in front of a mirror. If you are standing or sitting, make sure that your feet are flat on the floor and your back is straight. You can place your hands at your side, in your lap, or on your belly. Take 3 deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth, feeling stress exit your body with each exhalation. As you inhale, let the breath completely fill your lungs and push your belly out. (As your diaphragm contracts it pushes down on the organs of your abdomen and thus pushes your belly out.) Exhale completely, feeling your belly move back in as your breath leaves. Do a series of 7 breaths. Rest for 2 minutes and then repeat 2 more times.

Day 11 Reset Detox: Need help meeting your daily water intake? Adequate hydration (drinking half your body weight in ounces of water per day) is essential for detoxification but is often a huge challenge for people. Sometimes plain water just isn't appealing....so invigorate it with fresh fruit, fresh mint leaves, herbal tea or try this refreshing ginger turmeric lemonade which not only tastes good and is hydrating but also reduces inflammation, supports digestion and boost...s the immune system! Ginger Turmeric Lemonade (from veggiesociety.com) Ingredients: 4 lemons 7 cups filtered water 1.5 inch turmeric root or 2 tsp turmeric powder 1 inch ginger root 12 peppercorns 6 dates or stevia (optional) Instructions: 1) Cut the peel off of the lemons. Discard the seeds, then add the lemons to a blender or food processor. 2) Peel the turmeric and ginger root and add them to the blender along with the peppercorns, dates and water. 3) Process until completely smooth 4) Serve chilled over ice Enjoy!

Day 10 Reset Detox: With the warm weather outside it's the perfect time for smoothies! If you need a change from the daily detox protein shake, try incorporating the detox powder in a smoothie. Smoothies are a great way to pack in a ton of nutrients in one meal - and if you don't typically get enough greens in your diet or don't like the taste of greens, you can "hide" them in a smoothie so you get the nutritional benefits without the taste :) Detox Super Smoothie: 1 packet... Reset Detox protein powder 1/4 cup frozen berries 1/2 fresh or frozen banana 1 packed cup of greens (fresh spinach, kale, chard) 1 cup nut milk (unsweetened almond, coconut, rice, or cashew milk) or water Optional Superfoods: organic spirulina powder, acai powder, hemp seeds, match green tea powder, ground flax seeds, chia seeds, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, etc) Directions: Blend all ingredients together, add more liquid if needed. Enjoy! See more

Day 9 Reset Detox: Contrast showers (aka alternating hot and cold water) are great to do regularly but especially during a detox as alternating hot and cold water has a pulsing action on the blood vessels which helps to pump toxins/waste products out of the cell and bring nutrients into the cell. Benefits: - stimulates the immune system - increases circulation - increases metabolism... - preventative for colds & flus - relaxing Directions: 1) Hot shower to entire body for 3-5 minutes 2) Turn water to cold (as cold as you can tolerate) for 30 seconds 3) Repeat alternating cycle for 3-5 times, always ending on cold. 4) The greater the contrast in water temperature the greater the reaction and benefit you will attain. 5) The overall response will be warming and energizing! Day 8 Reset Detox: You made it past the first week! Great job! You should be noticing improved mood, increased energy, better sleep, and clearer thinking. If you want to enhance the detox process you can add in a physical modality like dry skin brushing. This is a technique that has been in use for thousands of years by multiple cultures for optimizing health. Dry skin brushing promotes circulation and lymphatic drainage which stimulates the exchange of nutrients and was...tes as well as promotes the flow of vital energy. Benefits of Dry Skin Brushing: - promotes lymphatic drainage - improves blood circulation - decreases muscle tension - promotes the movement of waste out of the body - decreases skin aging and promotes a youthful glow by removing dead skin cells and stimulating collagen production - reduces cellulite How to Dry Skin Brush: The best tool is a vegetable bristle skin brush but you can also use a loofah or coarse towel. Start with the upper body before the lower body. Use seven brush strokes for each step 1) Armpit: use seven circular clockwise strokes and seven counterclockwise. 2) Chest: brush from breastbone to each armpit, seven times on each side. Women should avoid direct brushing of the breasts. Brush the side of your torso upward from your waist to your armpit 3) Back: the upper back and shoulder blades also drain into the armpit, so brush upward and outward from the spine starting at the base of the neck. Seven strokes on each side. 4) Neck and Throat: start at the back and brush outward and upward from spine, then forward over the shoulder to the soft hollow at the base of the throat. Turn head to right when working on left side and vice versa. Then brush along jawline to throat and down over collar bone to the chest on both sides. 5) Lower back and mid-back: start at sacrum and brush upward to the bottom of the shoulder blades. Use seven strokes each up the center, left and right of the back. 6) Legs: Brush left leg first then right. Brush upward seven times on inside, outside, front and back from knee to the top of the thigh. Brush from ankle to knee as above.

Day 5 Reset Detox: Happy Friday! You've made it past the hump! The first 3-4 days of a detox are often the most challenging but once you get past them the rest of the detox is much easier. By now you should notice your cravings and withdrawal symptoms are subsiding and you are starting to feel better. For me, today was a huge turning point - my energy is up, my mood is up and I no longer have the hunger/cravings I did in the beginning. Wow...it really makes you realize the impact food has on our mental/emotional and physical well-being. As you continue through the detox you'll notice even more positive changes. Let us know how you're doing in the comments section.
