Today is Earth Day! Environmental issues can be overwhelming, but much can be done with small changes. I wanted to take a moment and give thanks on this wonderful Thanksgiving Day. Thank you to our patients and families for navigating this crazy year with us, for trusting us with your child’s care and knowing we are doing everything possible to ensure their health and safety. Thank you to my amazing team, this team who has listened to many meetings and guidelines on how to best work in this new environment and have done so with a smile and a don’t worry doctor, we’ve got this! Since December is just around the corner, we thought of a fun activity to do withthe kiddos that will encourage tooth brushing AND get them ready for Christmas day: a tooth brushing advent calendar. The idea is that every day after your little ones brush their teeth, they get to open an advent calendar day and receive a surprise! Fill the days with stickers, ornaments, crayons, or anything you find in the dollar bin.Materials: Tape Wooden panel - We found a wooden panel at... our local art supply/craft store. Felt/stapler: We cut the felt into rectangles and used a stapler to create a pouch by stapling the edges and leaving an opening at the top. You can then place the goodies inside. Twine/Clothespins: We strung twine along the front side of the wooden panel and used tape to hold it in place on the sides and on the back. After that, we attached the pouches onto the twine with clothespins. Lastly, we decorated the pouches with foam stickers, ornaments, and put the calendar days on top.
