TRAVIS AFB RESUMES NORMAL SERVICES TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. The base will return to normal operations effective tomorrow, Aug. 24. The 60th Air Mobility... Wing commander lifted the mandatory evacuation order for Travis Air Force base Aug. 21. Col. Corey Simmons, 60th AMW commander, gave the evacuation order Aug. 19 in response to the LNU Lightning Complex Fire near Fairfield and Vacaville, California, out of an abundance of caution for Team Travis Airmen and families. It’s been a challenging week for Team Travis and the surrounding communities, Simmons said. Thanks to all our emergency responders and community partners for helping keep our Airmen and their families safe. I am so proud of Team Travis members for the way they rapidly responded to the base evacuation order to protect their wellbeing. The safety of Team Travis Airmen and families remains our No. 1 number focus right now especially since some families are still displaced and some have lost their homes or have damaged property. TrUSt Travis ... There are No Bounds! If there are questions regarding a specific base service, please contact the respective facility for more information. ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL ONLY AUG 21: Current as of 9 p.m. PST - Travis Air Force Base remains under an evacuation order. This is no change from the previous status.... Only mission essential personnel should return to work Aug. 21 at the direction of their respective chains of command. Members should contact their leadership to determine their duty status and reporting times. Base leadership and the emergency operations center team, in conjunction with local authorities, continue to actively monitor the threat and work to determine the safest time to allow Team Travis personnel to return to base. We will continue to post updates as they become available.

UPDATE: MANDATORY EVACUATIONS FOR TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE The 60th AMW Commander has ordered mandatory evacuations for all non-mission essential personnel and the...ir family members from Travis AFB through the North and South Gates effective immediately. FULL DETAILS: In response to the LNU Lightning Complex Fire near Fairfield and Vacaville, California, the Travis Air Force Base installation commander has ordered evacuations for non-mission essential personnel and their family members in accordance with the Solano County fire department’s mandatory evacuations, Aug. 19, 2020. All non-mission essential personnel residing in Travis AFB housing or lodging are directed to evacuate immediately. Egress should be through the South and North Gates. Do not use the Main Gate or Hospital Gates. Mission essential personnel should contact their chain of command for duty status. The latest evacuation orders can be found here: https://local.nixle.com/county/ca/solano/ Once the evacuation order has been lifted, additional information will be released through the comptroller squadron regarding reimbursement of lodging and per diem expenses for mandatory evacuees. There is currently no lodging available on Travis Air Force Base and members are directed to stay with family or friends, proceed to evacuation centers, or secure commercial lodging outside of the evacuation area. See previous post for evacuation centers. **UPDATE as of 8:35 p.m. the Emergency Evacuation Assistance Center has been activated. For assistance please call (707) 424-2486. **UPDATE as of 11:40 p.m. the South Gate is now close for egress from base. The Main Gate and North Gate remain open. All storefront facilities are closed until further notice (the BX, Commissary, Shoppette). Gas pumps will remain open. Leadership continues to monitor the situation and make timely adjustments to response efforts as needed. Additional updates will be provided as soon as we get them.
