DeSTEMber EVENT OPEN TO ALL HOMESCHOOLERS! WHEN: Friday Dec. 18th @ 0700 and 1100. The Chief of Space Operations invites you and our United States Space Force teammates across the nation to participate in an educational outreach opportunity, focused on getting our nation’s elementary school students excited about pursuing a STEM education. The grade range is from 3-6. The lesson is comprised of a ~12 minute video, and Question and Answer session following, from a USSF member.... Our combined team of space and public affairs professionals created a 20-30 minute virtual curriculum with video that we tested in 10 elementary school classrooms last week, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive! The goal is to break down some of the mystery about our new military branch while making STEM accessible to our diverse population. Operation Homefront 2021 Military Child of the Year Award The annual awards will recognize outstanding young people ages 13 to 18. A winner from each branch of the armed forces will receive $10,000 each and a laptop computer. Anyone can nominate a student.
