The 2021 Float X2 and DHX2 are mighty impressive shocks! We've never ridden a coil shock that's this lively and we've never ridden an air shock that's this supple. They're both super adjustable and handle the roughest sections of trail exceptionally well. It's hard to beat the traction and composure of a coil shock but at the same time, the freedom to change air pressure and a ~1/2lb weight difference is mighty nice. If your bike would be happy with both, which one would you go with? Air or coil?

Happy New Year everyone! This past year was one for the books and we want to personally thank every one of you that supported our shop through it all. Whether we fixed your flat, built your dream bike, or you're just following along for the ride, we appreciate all of you. We're looking forward to this next year and continuing to support you, the mountain bike community, and sharing our love for cycling. Our shop owner, Lars Thomsen, summed up this past year well with these wo...rds: "2020 will be remembered for many things. For me, it will be the year that Trail Head Cyclery became an essential business for the nation. Sure, we always considered ourselves essential, but now it's official and I am proud to have such an amazing crew to help pull the weight. I am fortunate to have an amazing community of support. And as I look forward, I am optimistic about the incredible growth of cycling. All forms of cycling were elevated in 2020, and it still feels like we're just getting started. Let's do this! Happy New Year!" With all that said, we'll see you at the shop or on the trails. Now let's get out and ride!

It's all in the details and the Stumpjumper EVO has loads of them. It's quite impressive to see the amount of thought that has gone into this frame. What do you think of the new Stumpy EVO? Could it be your next bike?

"With its newly refined carbon frame, lower weight and improved pedalling performance, the Stumpjumper is more versatile than ever before. It’s a terrific technical climber, and the shortened travel and new carbon flex-stay suspension has pumped in a healthy amount of enthusiasm, giving it a load of pop and agility for darting through snakey singletrack. Even without the FSR pivot though, there’s still an impressive level of technical trail control here it’s a supple, fully-active design." Check out Flow Mountain Bike's VERY in-depth review on the new Specialized Stumpjumper. Crack a beer and pour over the details! You might just fall in love with the new Stumpy. - https://flowmountainbike.com//2021-specialized-stumpjump/

Dying to ride the new Specialized Stumpjumper or Stumpjumper EVO? Well we have a huge batch arriving at the shop soon! Contact us to reserve one for when they arrive and be one of the first on one of these ultimate trail shredders

Trail Head Cyclery 09.06.2020

How does more traction and confidence on any trail sound? Well that's exactly what you're getting with Specialized's new line up of tires. Now with even stickier rubber and tougher casings. The new T9 compound is the grippiest of the bunch with velcro like traction, Lars has been loving it as a front tire so far. T7 will make for a solid rear tire. Balancing grip, rolling resistance, and long wear life. The Butcher and Eliminator were already a killer combo, so we can't wait ...to get these on our bikes and have that extra edge of control while getting rowdy. Grab em' at the shop or grab one of the previous gen Specialized tires at a discount!

Trail Head Cyclery 05.06.2020

Stumpy vs. Stump EVO. Which one are you going with? Lightweight trail shredder or pure rowdy machine?

Trail Head Cyclery 21.05.2020

The gold standard for trail bikes has just been raised. The new Specialized Stumpjumper is faster, lighter, stiffer, and more fun than ever. Specialized pulled out all the stops for this new Stumpy. Designed around a 130/140mm package with a super lightweight frame that utilizes flex stays. The suspension platform as a whole has been revised to use the inherent traits of the flex stay and a specific shock tune to make its suspension poppy and playful, but also calm and compos...ed in the rough. The Stumpjumper's geometry has also seen some big changes and its numbers invite you to send it with confidence. The new Stumpjumpers will be arriving at the shop soon, if you're as eager to jump on one as we are, I would reserve yourself one already!
