Another day out educating motorist, bicyclist and pedestrians today. Please be cautious folks as we have stepped up enforcement for any of these in violation today. We will aslo be giving out warnings as well as education information for those that just deserve that much attention.Our Officers will be working in Central Division, downtown, little Italy, Bankers Hill and Logan Hieghts. Its a wet and rainy day in San Diego, if your out driving please slow down and stay alert as there will still be pedestrians and bicyclist out. We have officers out and about today to conduct Bike and Ped Safety Education even in the rain. So all you pedestrians and bicyslist remeber to wear bright clothing and look for cars before you cross the street. Please obey all traffic laws as it will take longer for cars to stop on these wet roadways.

Great morning at the MADD DUI awards in Balboa Park. Officers from all over the County were awarded their DUI pins for their hard work in DUI enforcment in San Diego County. Rainy Day, yep as another front of rain gets us wet this year please remember some simple safety rules to get you where your going safely. 1. Turn on your headlights, since you will be using your windshiled wipers it is required to do so. It will also make you more visble to ther traffic as well. 2. be aware of hydroplaning, dont use your cruise control in the rain as it will contribute to you losing control of your car in standing water. 3. Avoid puddles and running water ...as you dont alway know how deep it is. 4. Dont go around barricades on closed roads, who wants to to get rescued and lose a car to the rain. 5, Slow down, give yourself some extra time and back off from the car i front of you. Welcome to Friday and the beginning of the St. Patrick's Day weekend. With the weather look great for the week end get out and enjoy paradise. Don't forget if your going downtown that we have the St. Patrick's Day Parade at 10:30 on Saturday March 16th on 5th Avenue. If your coming down later in the day look for Shamrock as several square blocks will be closed of for this annual block party.
