Sometimes you just need a little bud [or three] to snuggle with. If you feel like you need some company lately, we are still in need of more foster families! Please inquire by going to link [https://www.towncats.org/towncats/foster/] or emailing [email protected]

Throughout June, we’re celebrating National Foster a Pet Month with @PetcoLove and @BOBS_Skechers. Melissa Funk has been fostering for Town Cats since 2020. Fostering is a cooperative effort by her whole family, and they excel at socializing shy kittens. In 2020, they fostered 12 kittens, and currently, they are fostering a litter of 3 kittens who are being treated for ringworm. Not many fosters are able to provide the specialized care necessary for ringworm kittens, and we are extremely grateful for her family's efforts! #PetcoLoveFoster

Take Me Home! Hi there! My name is Billie and I’m a 10 year old domestic shorthair tabby mix! While I may be a little shy, I ultimately come out of my shell after a little love and affection from a human! After arriving at Town Cats, I found out that many humans love giving me treats and toys! However, I chose to focus on my beauty naps and relax while cat watching from my cozy bed. I’d love to go home with a human who wouldn’t mind sharing a cuddle or two! Click here to apply>> https://www.towncats.org/towncats/available-cats-listing/

Take Me Home! This is Nonna. This lovely senior lady is a domestic shorthair brown tabby of 13 years. She spends her days making biscuits that the kittens everywhere envy and window watching with that sassy but sweet look she gives! Nonna is the sweetest bundle of butter that needs some arms to melt into with her love of snuggles. She loves endless pettings so make sure to mark your calendar! On Saturday, we were alerted by a neighbor in our shelter complex that there was a screaming kitten at the front gate. He saw this little baby in a box by the mailboxes and quickly came to seek help. It’s pretty quiet out here on weekends, and it could have been hours if not longer before somebody noticed the kitten. It was clear to us that this kitten had been dumped and somebody put it far enough away to avoid interaction with us. This is devastating and unacceptable. If th...e person had come and knocked on our door, we would have helped. There was no reason for dumping. It's a stressful time for everyone, and resources are limited to shelters and rescues, but there are better ways of doing things and there are resources out there, including us. The kitten was severely dehydrated, hungry, with a severe URI. We are happy to say that the baby has now been given subcutaneous fluids, given a treatment started for his diarrhea and URI, and is eating and happy with the warming disc in his cage. He will be off to a loving foster home very soon. Here at Town Cats, we know that sometimes there are unexpected situations, and we never shame people for having to surrender, return, or any other issues that can arise from finding a cat. Sometimes even adoptions don't work out, and we are always here to help troubleshoot and take the cat back if necessary. Part of this issue comes from the shaming that happens when people have cats and kittens and are unable to keep and care for them and the fear that comes with that. This is why Town Cats supports all rescues, shelters, and the like who are trying their best to do what they can do to help the cat population and work together to try and be part of the solution. If you or anyone that you know needs assistance with a cat or kitten please email us at [email protected]. This kitten’s story has a happy ending, but it could have ended much differently if circumstances had slightly differed. It's never acceptable to dump a cat or kitten, no matter the circumstances. We understand this is a hard time for all but let's work together to try to be part of the solution.
