Went out today picked up another boat load of gear still trying to digest the news about the California Crab season being closed April 15 2019 and closed April ...13 2020 to avoid whales. There are 3 things you need to make it as a crab fisherman fishable weather and time and area. Weather we can deal with but time and area in the last 10 years we have lost one hell of a lot of both. This action taken by the Department of Fish and Wild life and the Center of bio diversity has put a dark cloud over the future of the Dungeness crab fishery. See more
