Hello Anglers, Tony Reyes returned Friday evening from another 6 day trip into the Sea of Cortez . They started fishing at Snake Island throwing jigs and trolling with some Yellowtails landed . Later they moved to Salsipuedes Island where they found some Cabrillas and some bottom fish. That evening they went to San Francisquito to fill the bait tanks with live mackerel. Early next morning after breakfast the excited anglers boarded their Pangas and headed to the reefs where t...he big Yellows were waiting for them biting instantly as the baits neared the reefs. A wind and some rain started and wet anglers returned to the boat with a great catch of big Yellowtails. After waiting out the rain for a bit they headed back to the reefs and back to bigger Yellows in the 30 to 40 pound range, Groupers were also on the bite with many being hooked but not landed. 100 pound test is the minimum needed for these brutes. Next morning was a repeat of the same but with better weather , more Yellowtails and a large Grouper were landed with more fish being broken off. Exhausted anglers returned to the boat for a move to Barnaby reef where medium size Yellows and Cabrillas were brought aboard. Now a move to El Quemado Bay to load up with more live bait and then to Refugio point. Some of the Pangas did good there and some not. Just depended on where they were and how hard they fished. Good size Red Snappers and Cabrillas. Friday morning they fished the Enchanted Islands finding Barred Pargos and big Cabrillas some over 25 pounds then returning to San Felipe with a group of happy Anglers. 264 Yellowtails 213 Cabrillas 91 Bass 19 Pargos 7 Sheephead 13 Barred Pargos 10 Grouper 1 White Sea Bass 1 Halibut 9 Sierras 3 Dorados 22 Lingcod 189 Misc. & Released fish Thank You, Tom Ward, The Longfin WWW.TONYREYES.COM WWW.THELONGFIN.COM

Hi Anglers, Tony returned from a 6 day trip into the Sea of Cortez with a wide open Yellowtail bite going on. They started fishing at Las Animas Bay without live bait but it made little difference as the fish ate the jigs and trolled lures with a vengeance catching medium size Yellows and some Cabrillas. Next moving to San Francisquito to fill the bait tanks that night, even with a full moon, and then the morning bite was a crazy. Once the Pangas were positioned over the ...reefs the Yellowtails started biting and kept on to the point the Pangas had to return to the big boat to unload the fish so they could continue fishing. That evening they moved to another place to fill the bait tanks again. The fishing just got better and better with a non stop Yellowtail bite. Again moving back to Las Animas Bay making more live bait and then onto Refugio Bay where a variety of Pargos, Cabrillas and more Yellows were boated. Last evening along the coast some anglers went swimming from the beach while others caught some Pargos and Cabrillas. The trip back to San Felipe was pleasant with some light breezes and moderate swells a great group of anglers---Life is Good. Thanks, Tom Ward, The Longfin www.tonyreyes.com www.thelongfin.com Yellowtails Limits Cabrillas 67 Bass 29 Pargos 43 Sheephead 8 Barred Pargos 7 Grouper 1 Black Sea Bass 1 Halibut 1 Broomtail Grouper 1 224 Misc. and released fish
