We were told recently that baby girl will officially be moving in with a biological family member soon. It is difficult to think about saying goodbye, but I know there is hope and redemption in this story. Steven and I were talking about how a lot of people probably feel hesitant committing to be foster parents because of the very thing we are about to walk through these next several days. When you love someone and they have to leave, the pain is real, but it is so worth e...very bit of love given. This kind of love is risky, it is selfless, and there is not much promise of anything, but please hear me when I say this: IT IS WORTH IT. Love that is given is not in vain. So, go ahead and get attached, fall in love, take the risk. These kids are worth it. They deserve love and safety, for however long you have them, whether it’s 1 month or forever. Sitting in the middle of tragedy and redemption at the same time is so hard, but I am amazed at the way kids can do it. They are so quick to say come with me, you can eat at my table. The world needs more adults that show boundless love like children. This is not something you can look away from or give up on once you hold these children in your arms.
