Hey TTMS families, Toddy Thomas is looking for 3 parents to serve on the SSC (School Site Council). It doesn't necessarily need to be parents, as it can be community members as well. However, this is a good opportunity to have a say in how certain school funding is used, as well as a say in ideas for the school and student education. If you, or know anyone else who is interested, then please let me or the school know. Our first meeting is tentatively scheduled for Thursday 1...1/5 @ 4:00pm. Meetings typically last an hour. Thanks Mat Bigham, TTMS

https://dojovideos-5.classdojo.com//672d3/f9442dd26dc4.mp4 Good morning Hornets and happy Friday! Today is October 2nd. Happy birthday to Elise Brower celebrating her birthday today! As we finish the last day on campus gearing up for students to return, I want to remind everyone of a few things.... 1. Please make sure you have reviewed the procedures and protocols sent out earlier this week. It is vital that everyone follows these for everyone’s safety. 2. Please wear a mask on Monday. We do have disposable masks, but reusable masks are typically better, and can be washed and used again. 3. Be prepared to have school look quite a bit different from what you last experienced before we shut down last March. 4. Make sure you are pre-screening for any signs of illness before coming to school. If students are sick, they need to stay home. 5. Don’t forget to bring your Chromebooks and your chargers on the first day. We do not have spares, so please bring the school issued one, or one that you can use. We are looking forward to seeing each of you on Monday. It will be weird, but it will be exciting as well. I also want to take this moment to announcement this week’s Hornet Hero. This week’s Hornet Hero is Kamryn Mirken! She was nominated ofr putting her own needs aside to reach out to staff and students and lend a listening ear. She truly has a big heart! Kamryn would like you all to know: I am honored to be Hornet Hero this week. I hope you all are staying healthy and doing well. Soon you will be able to go back to school in person! Hang in there because here at toddy we don’t just survive we thrive. Don’t forget to do something today to make yourself better than yesterday. Always be safe, respectful and responsible. Do your best to stay healthy and stay positive. Always be relentless and make today, and every day count. Remember, we will make it through all of this together because at Toddy Thomas we don’t just survive, we thrive! Mat Bigham, TTMS

Some helpful information about masks and face coverings for Monday 10/5/2020: CDC: Overview -Wear masks with two or more layers to stop the spread of COVID-19 -Wear the mask over your nose and mouth and secure it under your chin... -Masks should be worn by people two years and older -Masks should NOT be worn by children younger than two, people who have trouble breathing, or people who cannot remove the mask without assistance -Do NOT wear masks intended for healthcare workers, for example, N95 respirators -CDC does not recommend the use of gaiters or face shields. Evaluation of these face covers is on-going but effectiveness is unknown at this time. Humboldt County: Overview Face Coverings. The term face covering in the State Face Covering Guidance (Face Covering) means a covering made of cloth, fabric, or other soft or permeable material, without holes, that covers the nose and mouth, but does not hide or obscure the wearer’s eyes or forehead. The Face Covering should be comfortable so that the wearer can breathe comfortably through the nose and does not have to adjust it frequently, so as to avoid touching the face. A video showing how to make a Face Covering and additional information about how to wear and clean Face Coverings may be found at the website of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at https://www.cdc.gov//prevent-/diy-cloth-facecoverings.html. Any mask that incorporates a one-way valve (typically a raised plastic cylinder about the size of a quarter on the front or side of the mask) that is designed to facilitate easy exhaling and does not have a fabric valve filter in place is not a Face Covering and may not be used to comply with this Order. Even when not required by this Order, people are strongly encouraged to wear Face Coverings when in public According to CDC, neck gators, buff and bandanas are not allowed. The mask must fit securely to the face. According to HumCo, all students and staff must be masked and masks with valves are not permitted unless it has a fabric filter. Please do your best to secure a reusable mask before Monday 10/5. Face shields are not an acceptable replacement for masks. Thanks Mr. Bigham, TTMS
