We recently dug back into The Smoking Tire Safari Porsche 911 to make a few drivability tweaks. Check out the video for an update and explanation. Video: https://tlgauto.com//the-smoking-tire-safari-porsche-911-u #porsche #porschemoment #safari911 #tlgauto

Dyno time at Ed Pinks.
I'm really loving the interior color of this Ruf CTR. A little more dyno tuning and she should be good to go. #tlgauto #rufctr #luftgekuhlt RUF Automobile GmbH / Porsche / Porsche Owners Club (POC) - Official Page / Porsche Club of America: Los Angeles
We did a little office remodeling over the last few weeks. One of the buried treasures that we unearthed was this old Matchbox 935. Not sure where I got it from, but it's been hanging around the shop for a while, apparently. #tlgauto #matchbox #diecast Porsche Owners Club (POC) - Official Page / Porsche / Porsche Club of America: Los Angeles

Rod Emory’s 991RS in for another oil change. Love seeing this car being used as a daily driver! #tlgauto #gt3rs Emory Motorsports / Porsche / Porsche Owners Club (POC) - Official Page / Pirelli / Porsche Club of America: Los Angeles
A smashed front condendser led to a blown up A/C compressor. Replaced them both and now we've got a working A/C for this client's 85 Carrera. #tlgauto #airconditioning

The owner of this 997 C4 Targa called us with a question relating to a running issue that was diagnosed by a local dealership. The technician at the dealership had found metal shavings on the crankshaft sensor and wanted to remove the transmission to find out more. Having recently had the clutch replaced at the dealership about 20K miles ago, the owner was reluctant to have the dealer do any more work on the car and asked us to have a look. The first thing we noticed was that... there was a small hole busted in the bell-housing where something tried to escape. Then we noticed a few missing bell housing bolts. Upon removal of the transmission we found one of the missing bell housing bolts, a disintegrated clutch arm pivot ball, and a severely banged-up pressure plate. The dual mass flywheel was also completely dead. To say that we were surprised the car was able to travel 20K mi with a bolt floating around in the bell housing is an understatement, but it serves as a testament to the durability of the Porsche product. It also underscores the importance of independent shops like ours that don't work on Flat Rate ... shops that take the time to ensure that every detail is properly addressed, and that all the bolts get put back where they belong. This one is just about ready to go home, we're just waiting on the new bell housing bolts to come from ... you guessed it ... the dealer. #tlgauto #mechanic Porsche Club of America \ Porsche Owners Club (POC) - Official Page \ Porsche Club of America: Los Angeles
I was nominated by @rodemory for the #frontendchallenge. So here goes: 1) My dad posing with his 72 911T Comfy Cruiser that he built to travel with my mom. His 73 hotrod is in the background. 2) A gorgeous ROW 1975 Carrera with MFI that we did some corrective work to a while back. I’m about to do a motor on this car in the near future. 3) Proof that @thesmokingtire uses his #keenproject Safari car for adventures. 4) My dad’s Gemini Blue 73 Hotrod ... lots of history in... this one. 5) A very cool 930 we restored about 5 or 6 years ago. 6) My former Light Yellow 74 911 hotrod in front of the entrance to Mid Ohio. I took this photo on my cross country trip from New Hampshire back to CA. This may be my favorite 911 of all time. 7) Giving the neighborhood riff raff a talking to. 8) The GT1 ... my second favorite Porsche racecar of all time 9) Me in my 70E racecar at Willow Springs exiting T3 on cooked rubber. 10) Me at @autoclubspeedway circa 2009 coming into the pits on my 749 after a run session. I nominate @johncary, @photosbyteej, @tpap54, and @tedgushue for the #frontendchallenge. #tlgauto
The 3.45L is coming together bit by bit. Currently mocking up ignition wire placement as I wait for some wire connectors so I make/trim a few of the wires. I feel like over-the-fan RSR bundling of the wires is a nice throwback. #tlgauto #motorbuild Porsche / Craft & Tailored / Porsche Owners Club (POC) - Official Page / Porsche Club of America / Porsche Club of America: Los Angeles
