The tax season deadline is ONE WEEK from today. Be sure to file your income tax or an extension by Tuesday, April 15th.

You can amend your tax return if you've filed, and later realized that you've omitted income, made a mistake, or overlooked some deductions by filing Form 1040X within 3 years after the date you filed your original return.

If you owe money, you can file electronically and then wait until the federal tax filing deadline to send in a check along with Form 1040-V. You may be able to pay with a credit card or through a direct debit.

FYI: filing for an extension does not give you an extension to pay. All balances are due by April 15th.

Corporation extensions: don’t forget corporation extensions are due March 17th.

College students: Keep all your school related expense. Tuition, books, paper, computers, etc.

No Social, no problem. You can apply for an Idividual Taxpayer Identification Number to file your income taxes. An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) is a tax processing number issued by the Internal Revenue Service. ITINs are issued regardless of immigration status because both resident and nonresident aliens may have a U.S. filing or reporting requirement under the IRS code.
