Reflections on Pandemic: 1 Chronicles 21:27 - So the LORD commanded the angel, and he returned his sword to its sheath 2 Samuel 24:16 - The LORD said to the angel who was destroying the people, It is enough; now restrain your hand.... The sword of the LORD, the plague for three days, struck Israel. It seems that the immediate cause was that David fell into sin and took his own glory to number Israel. However the main reason was that Israel had provoked the LORD to anger. David knows God’s divine nature is full of abundant mercies. David first asked for forgiveness for his sins and then interceded for the Israel. God listened to David’s request and commanded the angel to return his sword to its sheath. The plague was withdrawn from Israel. Revelations 5:10 - The LORD has made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth. We are God’s own special people and a royal priest and king, so remember to learn from king David’s prayer in our daily prayer. First, pray for our own weakness, laziness, and little faith and ask the Lord to forgive and strengthen us. Then, intercede for this unbelieving generation (1 Timothy 2:1) If the Lord wills, He will answer us and accept our sacrifice. He will also command the angel to return his sword to its sheath to withdraw the pandemic today because of our intercession for the people in the world. Did you pray today?
