I rarely mention it on FB, but the injury to his brain left him with Aphasia, which is the loss of ability to understand or express speech, and for Keith's severe case it included speaking, writing, and reading. His insurance covered a mere one hour a week of speech therapy. We were SO fortunate that Keith was accepted into an intensive program at Cal State East Bay in Hayward, "The Aphasia Treatment Program". This amazing program allows him about 10 hours a week of both individual AND group therapy! This has made a TREMENDOUS difference in his brain's healing process! He has made leaps and bounds in all areas that he was affected. I cannot begin to say enough about the program or the technicians who make such a huge difference in the lives of those with Aphasia. Because it is run by instructors and students they operate on donations only. It would be my honor to offer a more substantial donation to this outstanding program than I would be able to otherwise! It's a win, win situation for all. We can work together to create a beautiful portrait and make a difference at the same time!
