I wanted to put up a picture of some influential Asian American immigrants, and realized the most influential Asian American immigrants to me are my parents. Without out them leaving their homeland of the Philippines, I would not be where I am today. They embody the American ideal of embracing the opportunity for prosperity, success, and achieving the American dream through hard work. IMPORTANT UPDATE: The requirements for the civics test for naturalization have changed again. If the new 2020 test was preventing you from applying, you no longer need to worry. Those who filed between December 1, 2020 and March 1, 2021 and have an appointment scheduled before April 21, 2021 will now have the option of taking the 2020 civics test (the officer will ask 20 out of 128, and 12 must be correct) or taking the 2008 version (the officer asks 10 out of 100, and 6 must... be answered correctly). Anyone else who falls outside those dates will be taking the 2008 version.
